After Miss Teen USA, UmaSofia Srivastava, stepped down last week, the runner-up — Miss Teen New York, Stephanie Skinner — told The Post that she doesn’t want the crown either. “I ultimately came to the decision to decline it,” Skinner, 19 and from New Hartford, New York, said. “I didn’t feel like it was the right decision considering all the circumstances.” Over the past week both Srivastava, 17, and Miss USA, 24-year-old Noelia Voigt, abdicated their titles, while Miss USA Organization social media manager Claudia Michelle also resigned from her post. Sources told The Post that the women had been...

The new global women’s empowerment era is here, declared the trans owner of the Miss Universe Organization over the weekend. “It has been 70 years that Miss Universe Organization run by men. But now, time is up, is the moment really, for women to take the leap,” said biological male Jakkaphong 'Anne' Jakrajutatip during the 71st Miss Universe 2023 pageant in New Orleans on Saturday. “Welcome to the new era of the global women’s empowerment platform. Welcome to the Miss Universe Organization. From now on is going to be ran by women, owned by a trans woman, for all women,...

For the first time, top beauty pageants — Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America and now, Miss Universe — have crowned black women as their winners at the same time. And that's a big deal if you know pageant history. Beauty pageants early in their histories, some dating back to the 1920s, barred women of color from participating. Even after organizations began changing their rules to accept women of all races, there was still a lingering frustration and opposition to join. Only in the last 50 years have black women become more prevalent in these competitions. Janelle Commissiong was...

Katherine Haik’s one-year reign as Miss Teen USA ends Saturday evening in Las Vegas. An active member of her youth group at First Baptist Church in Franklinton, Louisiana, in 2015 Katherine became the youngest-ever contestant to win the pageant. Alas, the then 15-year-old high school freshman did not earn her victory without making a certain compromise – disregarding the Scripture advising that “women should adorn themselves in respectable attire, with modesty and self control.” Well, one needn’t be prudish to wonder whether sashaying across a stage in high heels and a teensy bikini fits the Biblical definition of “modesty.” Especially,...

The FBI and law enforcement officials in more than a dozen countries have made scores of arrests in cases involving Blackshades, malicious software that allows users to surreptitiously peep into the computers and web cameras of others. In what the FBI said was the largest global cyber operation to date, raids were carried out in 18 countries at the homes of people suspected of buying the malware, which was available for a $40 download. The targets for law enforcement included the creators and administrators of Blackshades. The software was used last year against Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf in what...

I want to comment further here on the Miss Teen South Carolina answer. She was asked a question in a pageant: "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the United States on a world map. Why do you think this is? " Here was her answer: "I personally believe the US Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education, like such as South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like, such as -- and I believe that they should. Our education...
