A ‘treasure trove’ of fossils including plant specimens collected by Charles Darwin, has been rediscovered. The fossils, which have been lost for 165 years, were unearthed in an old cabinet at the British Geological Survey’s vast fossil collection. They now have been registered and photographed and are available for viewing by the public through a new online museum exhibit at: http://www.bgs.ac.uk/discoveringGeology/geologyOfBritain/archives/jdhooker/ Just one of the lost fossils collected by Charles Darwin Courtesy of BGS©NERC Dr. Howard Falcon-Lang, a paleontologist at Royal Holloway, University of London, made the discovery. He recalled, “While searching a cabinet for fossils from the Bristol Coalfield,...

Census 2010 and the LawCensus: An official, usually periodic enumeration of a population, often including the collection of related demographic information.– Federal Depository Library ProgramIntroductionAs of April 1, 2010, an extremely high-pressured demand is being made by the government that every person in the United States respond to questions put forth by the Census Bureau through the mechanism of what is being called "Census 2010." However many people have serious concerns about this governmental demand for personal identification information. Especially since, in preparation for this event, the Census Bureau for the first time employed GPS location verification for virtually every house...
  • Obama BIRTH CERTIFICATE MYSTERY

ollowing up on previous posts in the past couple of days about Barack Obama’s “birth certificate,” here and here, I became more curious about Barack’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham (known as “Ann”), and spent several hours reading about her. In particular, I was searching for information about the circumstances surrounding Barack’s birth. It seems reasonable to ask at this point: Is it possible that Barack Obama, Ann’s son, was born someplace besides Honolulu? Here’s a rough sketch of what I’ve pieced together so far based on information available on the Internet, but I could use some help filling in the...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A second look at some 40-million-year-old fossils provides a "missing link" to suggest that the closest living relative of whales is the hippo, a group of scientists said on Monday. Although the hippopotamus does not seem a likely relative of whales, genetic study has suggested they are close. Now, a team at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Poitiers in France and the University of N'djamena in Chad say they have found more evidence in the fossil record. "The problem with hippos is, if you look at the general shape of the animal it could...

WASHINGTON — Two blockbuster magazine articles last week revealed evidence that Saddam's spy agency and top Qaeda operatives certainly were in frequent contact for a decade, and that there is renewed reason to suspect an Iraqi spymaster in Prague may have helped finance the 9/11 attacks. On weeklystandard.com, you can find chunks of a 16-page letter by Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith, responding to a Senate Intelligence Committee request for evidence of Saddam-bin Laden collaboration. Fifty specific instances from C.I.A., N.S.A., F.B.I. and Pentagon files are described, many from "sensitive reporting" never made public. The Defense Department acknowledged the...
