• Crying Hate, Suppressing Debate (Mr. Clinton speaks hate, but says we can't)

Furrowing his brow at the protesters rudely demonstrating their ingratitude to benevolent old Uncle Sam, Bill Clinton decided to take a trip down memory lane. While others indulge their 1990s nostalgia by watching Seinfeld reruns and listening to Hootie and the Blowfish CDs, Clinton prefers to repeat his favorite smears of anyone uncouth enough to criticize the government from the right.

A powerful green laser beam penetrated the cockpit of a jet getting ready to land at JFK International Airport, and it was so bright the pilot had to shield his eyes, authorities said. The pilot told air traffic controllers that he had to use a sun visor to shield his eyes after the the light shone into the cockpit of the JetBlue plane at 7:45 p.m. The light appeared to come from the shoreline and was pointed directly at the cock[pit, the pilot said. The plane, flying from Portland to JFK, landed safely without incident. Police are investigating.

CARACAS, Venezuela -- Former WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero was detained on suspicion of killing his wife on Sunday, police said. Venezuelan Federal Police Chief Wilmer Flores said Valero was arrested after police found the body of his 20-year-old wife in a hotel in the city of Valencia. Valero left the hotel room around dawn on Sunday and allegedly told the hotel's security personnel that he had killed Jennifer Viera, Flores said. Flores told state television that police found three stab wounds on Viera's body. He said Valero was transferred a local police precinct, "where we are headed to take...

    AZCDL ALERT | 16 April, 2010 | AZCDL Fred
YOU did it! Today, April 16, 2010, Governor Brewer signed SB 1108, the AzCDL-requested Constitutional Carry bill, into law. Arizona now becomes the third state to not require written permission from the government for law-abiding citizens to exercise their right to bear arms discretely. Because Arizona is the first state in the U.S. with a large urban population to take this significant step, this is a watershed moment for the entire country. AzCDL has been working towards this moment since we formed 5 years ago. Constitutional Carry has always been one of our primary goals. Every success over the last...
  • Tucson Tea Party draws 2,000 people downtown

Arizona Daily Star | Rhonda Bodfield
In the shadow of government buildings in downtown Tucson, about 2,000 people gathered today for the Tea Party event. Many carried flags and balloons at the packed plaza in Presidio Park. Several posters are aimed at Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. One depicted Donald Trump telling Giffords she's fired. Andrew McMurrich, 43, a former police officer, carried a sign that read: "Stop wasteful spending" "We understand that taxes are necessary to support a government," McMurrich said. "But - especially at the local level - there are a lot of funds that have been misappropriated." He said the city puts too much emphasis...

They pointed to the Honolulu Observer birth notice and its address of 6085 Kalanianaole Highway. The problem is that we have no records, other than the two birth announcements, that Obama lived at this particular address. Records show the owner Orland and Thelma Lefforge lived at that address through that time with 3 kids up until the last few years. Anyone can call in a birth announcement, and Hawaii only required one relative to order a certificate of live birth (grandma, wanting to ensure US citizenship? Grandma could have put any address she wanted on the announcement--worked at the bank/mortgage...

went to Bella Vista to gather signatures for the Secure Arkansas ballot initiative that stops illegal aliens from getting taxpayer funds. Here is what happened. I went to Bella Vista Christian Church at 7am to setup and gather signatures. The election staff allowed me to stay, and even signed the petition themselves. Later, an election commissioner came and told me I had to move to 100 feet from the door, which I did. Later she came with a measurement tape and told me I had to move a little further. As I was preparing to move again, I was told...

Someone please help me out. I was at the gym on the treadmill, and the TV next to mine was on Chrissy's show. He was interviewing that vile Bill Maher, and they were talking about the Tea Party today in Boston, and mentioned both Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman. I was reading the Closed Caption, and, in between insults to conservatives in general, He Who's Leg Tingles said something to the effect that the Tea Partiers were only interested in MILFF's. I had to do a double take, as I couldn't believe my eyes. The CC even spelled it wrong:...

Sigourney Weaver has launched a blistering attack on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, saying James Cameron didn't win the Oscar for Best Director because he "didn't have breasts." Outspoken "Avatar" star Weaver said she believed Cameron -- who lost out to his ex-wife, "The Hurt Locker" director Kathryn Bigelow -- didn't win because the academy wanted to make history by naming its first ever female Best Director. "Jim didn't have breasts, and I think that was the reason," Weaver told Brazilian news site Folha Online over the weekend. "He should have taken home that Oscar In a...

It will surprise few to learn that the big picture often slips unnoticed past Washington's window. The tea party movement — organic, angry and thriving — is only the most recent to take insiders by surprise. Out yonder, among shuttered storefronts and leaner lifestyles, the tea party has been a predictable response to supersized government spending and aggressive hubris. Another movement percolating right in front of our noses seems to be equally invisible to establishment eyes. Independents — neither right nor left, but smack dab in the broad middle — constitute 42 percent of the electorate, according to a recent...

But neither the drizzling rain, biting wind could not stop the stream of people, flock to the National Library, to say goodbye to the oldest American politician of 77 years of Edward Moore Kennedy. • Krentz family, friends still wait for troops

A day after laying rancher Robert Krentz to rest at funeral services in Douglas, his family and others are still waiting for troops to be deployed to the border. The Krentz family called for the active-duty military to be deployed, and many of their neighbors have demanded that troops not only come but be given authority to track lawbreakers, arrest them and - if threatened - shoot. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer wants to deploy 250 additional National Guard soldiers but doesn't want to use state funds to pay for them. The federal government hasn't answered a formal request from her...

Rand Paul For Senate 2010 | 4-11-10 | David Adams
Rand Paul’s establishment opponent has had a very rough last few days. It started with the revelation that the opponent gained an inordinate amount of his recent fundraising success in the pockets of the same people who helped AIG drain billions of taxpayer dollars in the infamous bailouts. It continued Monday when the opponent admitted that he isn’t really serious when he says he wants to cut wasteful spending. To top it off, the opponent told his friends at the New York Times that “Mr. Grayson argues that some of Dr. Paul’s ideas (getting rid of the Departments of Energy,...

Mitt Romney, the once and likely future presidential candidate, didn’t show up to address the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, but that didn’t stop him from walking away with the big prize from the gathering. The former Massachusetts governor bested the competition in a straw poll conducted here over the past two days. Romney received 24 percent of a total of 1,806 ballots cast when voters were asked to name the candidate they would support if the Republican primary for president were held today. [snip] A group whipping votes for Romney, Evangelicals for Mitt, spent the day handing out plastic pink...
