The top US Navy SEAL recently sent a blistering letter to the force, writing in boldface type, "We have a problem," following several high profile incidents of alleged misbehavior by the US Navy's elite service members, CNN has learned. Rear Adm. Collin Green has given commanders until August 7 to detail the problems they see and provide recommendations on how they will ensure troops are engaging in ethical and professional behavior. The letter -- dated July 25 and exclusively obtained by CNN -- comes in the wake of several high profile incidents of alleged misbehavior by SEALs. "I don't know...

A South Side attorney filed a petition Thursday asking for a special prosecutor to look into whether “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett should be re-charged with staging a hate crime as well as whether Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx or her subordinates interfered with the investigation. The filing by Saani Mohammed, who until recently was an assistant state’s attorney in Foxx’s office, marked the first formal request that a special prosecutor be appointed since the bombshell decision last week to drop all charges against Smollett. Saying Foxx’s handling of the case was “plagued with irregularity,” Mohammed’s 10-page petition asked that...

Trulove was kept in prisons hundreds of miles away from his family and was also stabbed, Alex Reisman, one of his lawyers, told the Associated Press. “He endured...

Mayoral candidate Toni Preckwinkle defended her political protégé on Tuesday amid allegations that State’s Attorney Kim Foxx acted inappropriately when she tried to persuade Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to transfer the investigation of Jussie Smollett’s claim of being the target of a hate crime to the FBI. “Kim Foxx was my chief of staff for … a little more than two years. She ran for and was elected state’s attorney. I’m very grateful for the good work that she’s done there,” Preckwinkle told an unrelated news conference on the West Side. “I think that she makes the decisions that...

Only an audacious and arrogant man accuses others of lying when he is guilty of the same. James Comey, the fired Director of the FBI, stood in front of the television cameras on Monday to accuse President Trump of “lying about the FBI, attacking the FBI, and attacking the rule of law in this country.” This from the man who was fired for abusing his authority and usurping the power of the attorney general in the infamous Hillary Clinton email scandal. As I wrote in my book, “The Russia Hoax,” “Comey’s lack of integrity and defiance of rules and principles...

Providing more details on the sexual misconduct case against Willow Creek Community Church founder Bill Hybels, former staffer Nancy Ortberg claimed that the woman who alleged a prolonged sexual affair with Hybels was suicidal and that the founder was allowed to continue counseling the woman even after the allegation was made. Ortberg, who served on the Board of the Willow Creek Association and on staff as teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church for nine years, decided to release the details two days after Hybels announced that he would retire, because she remains "deeply concerned about the process and church...

Maintaining his innocence at a church gathering, Bill Hybels, founder and senior pastor of the multi-campus Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, announced on Tuesday his decision to retire from his role six months earlier than planned under a swirling cloud of sexual misconduct allegations. "I have decided to accelerate my planned retirement date from October of this year to tonight. This decision was mine and mine alone, but after much discussion, my decision earned the unanimous support of the Elders and the Executive Team," Hybels said in a statement he read to the church. "As Lynne (wife)...

A single Wikileaks email [*a*] reveals that Peter Kadzik belongs in jail, not to mention the others who failed to report the crime. Look at all who were in on it: John Podesta personally emailed the tip to: 1. Hillary Clinton 2. Cheryl Mills 3. Another 'id'ed as 'H Samuelson' Mills 4. A number of others who had email accounts in 'Hillary Clinton Dot Com'. Podesta tipped them off that Peter Kadzik [the DOJ bigwig] had given him a 'heads up': [quote] There is a HJC oversight hearing today where the head of our Civil > Division will testify. Likely...

Have you noticed how the word “misconduct” has become the go-to synonym for a lot of words that used to mean distinctly different things? For example: Sexual assault/abuse has been rebranded as “sexual misconduct” in order to be more inclusive. The ramifications for any behavior along this newly established spectrum appears to be the same: immediate assumption of guilt and swift excommunication. Among the latest victims: PBS is “indefinitely” suspending distribution of the late-night talk show “Tavis Smiley” after multiple misconduct allegations emerged against the show's 53-year-old host, PBS announced Wednesday. Tavis Smiley excoriated PBS late Wednesday for suspending distribution...

Kihuen repeatedly touched the women’s legs or buttocks without her consent, the woman told the Nevada Independent. The anonymous woman also showed the paper hundreds of suggestive text messages from Kihuen that included comments such as, “I’m sure you look even better naked.” In one message, he asked her “What color are your panties?” She declined to tell him, which Kihuen said made him “sad,” claiming his “day can’t go on without knowing.”

What's a witch-hunter to do when there's no witch, and witchcraft itself turns out to be imaginary? When even the latest accusation against the biggest scapegoat of the house is a crock? Alan Dershowitz, a liberal in good standing with occasional fits of constitutional sanity, has called on Bob Mueller, aka "The Special Prosecutor," to resign, 'cause there's no there there. Professor Dershowitz points out that Trump may be guilty of sins "but not crimes." Well, if POTUS Trump is a sinner, I hope the Lord forgives him, along with the rest of us. But if all sinners went to...

Cable channel E! is conducting an internal investigation into an allegation of misconduct against Ryan Seacrest. The allegation stems from an alleged incident reported by a former stylist who worked at E! News when Seacrest worked there. When Susan Fowler rocked Uber’s world with a meticulous account of the company’s sexual harassment and gender discrimination issues, the ride-sharing service turned to its only female board member to help clean up its culture (and its image). Arianna Huffington was perfectly poised to position herself as the feminist savior who would advocate for Uber’s women—she oversaw the subsequent Eric Holder investigation, and promised that “no brilliant jerks will be allowed, and no one will be protected because they are top performers.” But being a powerful woman with a stake in a company, and its profits, doesn’t mean Huffington was...

Briony Whitehouse was a 19-year-old intern in 2003 when she boarded an elevator in the Russell Senate Office Building with a Republican senator who, she said, groped her until the doors reopened. She never reported the incident to her bosses for fear of jeopardizing her career. But she recently tweeted about her experience on Twitter as part of the #MeToo campaign, a social-media phenomenon that has aired thousands of complaints about sexual harassment. Some of the accounts have called out by name Hollywood moguls, media stars, even a former U.S. president. Other women such as Whitehouse have stopped short of...
