Right now there are four Mexican gents fixing my carport roof. I am amazed by the work ethic shown by these four men, they don’t chit chat, they don’t stand idle and smoke, they just work. My roof is going to get done today, weeks ahead of schedule by four men who barely speak any English. The jobs were there and they saw an opportunity and I hope they get paid well for their labors. For the record I’m 60 with health issues and had to hire this job out, I’m not lazy, just grateful there are still hard working...

A local school district is apologizing after an apparent incident of racism at a boys high school basketball game this past weekend. When the final whistle blew Saturday, Alamo Heights celebrated a convincing victory over San Antonio Edison. Alamo Heights Head Coach Andrew Brewer said he was proud of his team. “Tremendously proud,” Brewer said. “Tremendously. It’s the best group of kids.” But it was just after the trophy presentation when the coach was not proud of the chant coming from Alamo Heights fans. “USA, USA, USA,” they chanted. San Antonio Independent School District officials took the chant as a...

You called, you emailed, you bombarded their Facebook page with outrage. And Shirley Bunn is now back on the job. The Arlington School District this weekend reinstated Bunn. You may recall from our post a week earlier that she had been suspended for telling a frequently disruptive Hispanic student "Go back to Mexico", after he repeatedly asked her for a set of forms in Spanish, yelling "I'm Mexican...I'm Mexican". Even after Ms. Bunn told him he could get Spanish-language forms in the main office, the kid continued to harrass her for Spanish forms, yelling "I'm Mexican...I'm Mexican", after which Bunn...

GOP lawmaker blasts Mexican pres. comments as inappropriate By Jordy Yager - 05/20/10 03:25 PM ET Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) blasted Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Thursday, calling the visiting dignitary’s remarks on Arizona’s recently implemented immigration law “inappropriate.” Earlier Thursday, Calderon condemned Arizona’s new immigration law during a speech to a joint session of Congress, saying it amounts to little more than racial profiling and that the United States is in need of comprehensive immigration reform. “It’s inappropriate for a head of state to question our laws, especially when the state of Arizona only acted in the best interest...

To all you proud and die hard conservatives who are so faithful to your conservative principles that you can't bring yourself to back Senator McCain: grow up, wake up and stand up for the most qualified and conservative candidate in the race for the Presidency who stands far closer to your ideals and values than The Clintons or Obama. (I should also add, hold your nose.) To "sit this one out" is not an option. Pride, selfishness and misguided righteousness will usher in an Obama or Clinton x 2 White House with decades of disastrous consequences for our economy, military,...

McCain's love of amnesty will be a key issue. He supported amnesty in 2003 by name, proposed it in 2006 and 2007 without calling it amnesty, and says that anyone who says that he ever supported amnesty is a liar. He has insulted Americans who advocate border security and has cursed at the thought of building a border fence. The presence of Juan Hernandez in the background of the McCain campaign tells us that John McCain is as weak on border security now as he ever was. Dr. Juan Hernandez, a dual citizen of the US and Mexico, and past...

With John McCain’s victory in the Republican Primary in Florida, a lot of attention has come his way. The reaction of the pundits and the blogosphere has been all over the map. Some, such as Michael Medved, are enthusiastic about the candidate and his chances in the general election; others, such as Rush Limbaugh, are concerned that a McCain candidacy will spell the end of the Republican party as we know it. And with the cheering for and against him, so to have his past actions and policies come under scrutiny. Everything, from the Keating Five, to the Gang of...

It is often said that the best way to find out how a candidate would act in office if elected, is to see who he/she surrounds himself with. Money is another factor, what people and industries are backing the candidate. These answers should be an indicator of what to expect. Who is behind the man should gauge what kind of man he is. The great Richard Viguerie tells the story of how he and other conservatives had a “seat at the table” of the presidential campaigns of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan for. His thinking was if Conservatives aren’t at...

Less then a week after saying he has heard the American people regarding illegal immigration and their opposition to the McCain-Kennedy Pro-Amnesty bill, John McCain would still SIGN THE BILL into law if he was President and it came across his desk: (VIDEO) This explains his receiving the endorsement of fellow Pro-Amnestians, Senator Mel Martinez, (who almost single-handedly bankrupted the RNC with his support of the bill), the NY Times, Florida Governor Charlie Crist and of the Mexico-first pro-amnesty open borders advocate Dr. Juan Hernandez. “My friends", let me give you some “straight talk", a vote for John McCain is...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Two crucial pillars of President Bush's public support - perceptions of his honesty and faith in his ability to fight terrorism - have slipped to their lowest point in the AP-Ipsos poll. While the CIA leak investigation, the mishandling of Hurricane Katrina and high energy costs have all taken their toll, the polling found the Iraq war at the core of Americans' displeasure with the president. All of those concerns are cutting into traditional Bush strengths.

Presidential poll gives Colo. congressman 1% WASHINGTON - It's official: Rep. Tom Tancredo is a blip on the 2008 presidential radar. Tom Tancredo's name was misspelled on survey group's Web site. A new poll shows Tancredo, a Littleton Republican, pulling 1 percent of the vote in New Hampshire, home of the traditional first-in-the-nation presidential primary election. American Research Group Inc. surveyed 600 likely Republican primary voters - including 433 Republicans and 167 undeclared voters - from Aug. 5 to 7. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., led with 39 percent, followed by "undecided" at 32 percent. Among others: former House Speaker Newt...
