WASHINGTON (AP) - Two crucial pillars of President Bush's public support - perceptions of his honesty and faith in his ability to fight terrorism - have slipped to their lowest point in the AP-Ipsos poll.
While the CIA leak investigation, the mishandling of Hurricane Katrina and high energy costs have all taken their toll, the polling found the Iraq war at the core of Americans' displeasure with the president.
All of those concerns are cutting into traditional Bush strengths.

It's agenda journalism.
I think the polls are accurate, on balance.
It's junk science. Kinda like global warming.
Manure. It's a push poll by AP/IPSOS.
This poll has a 51% Democrat sample.
And how does that compare to the poll about Clinton's honesty and ability to fight terror?
You mean to tell me they didn't ask anyone back then? I'm shocked!
While this bait is somewhat tempting, it is not very fresh. I pass.
Is this the same group of people polled who also like Bill Clinton and the way he handles his job?????????????
With the advent of Talk Radio and Fox News, the MSM media doesn't even try to disguise their left wing bias anymore,. All week long we have seen Mary Mapes on the talk show circuit and NOBODY has asked her how a Microsoft Word Document could ever be considered as a legit Military document. She has been asked by every talking head if she stands behind the documents, when she says "Yes" they simply move on and ask her another question.
Our main stream media makes the Soviet's Pollit bureau look fair and balanced by comparison
All I have to say is, how many truely honest politicians can you name in Washington?
Say what you like about AP but Ipsos makes their living by polling. It can't be in their interests to do push polling. They make their money from market research, political polling is a sideline. If their methodology is off, the marketers don't pay them for their services.
"Most Americans Say Bush Not Honest"
Most Americans are ignorant.
I believe I heard Chris Matthews quote a poll.. 80 percent thought Libby was guilty. 60 percent knew who he was. Nuff said.
That's true. He's a politician and I don't know of one that's totally honest. I know GWB has told whoppers concerning fiscal matters, but when it comes to foreign policy he is more trustworthy.
This poll is as biased as the rest. Back to DU with you.
Polls basically measure the medias' effectiveness at getting their message out.
No,the people,I would not go so far as to call them "Americans", whom the pollesters contacted say that President Bush is dishonest.
Real Americans know better.
A better title would have been:"American Haters say that Bush is Dishonest."
