Security ramped up nationwide for Election Day, preparing for mass protests

As Election Day is just days away, Washington, D.C., Michigan, Georgia and other states around the U.S. are ramping up security, as massive protests are expected no matter who wins.

In the deep-blue cities of Philadelphia, Atlanta and Detroit, security measures are taking place to keep election officials safe. In Detroit and Atlanta, some campaign offices have installed bullet-proof glass protecting election offices. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a warehouse that counts ballots has fencing around it topped with barbed wire, according to Reuters.

The executive director of North Carolina’s State Board of Elections said that election workers have been harassed already amid early voting. The state has a law where law enforcement can only be at polling places if there are threats, according to Politico.

Other states such as Massachusetts have a law that requires police presence at polling places no matter what.

The media will pretend that any violence will be from Trump supporters and constantly show video from January 6th. But the riots will not be from conservatives. We also remember Trump's 2017 inauguration and the riots of 2020.

I advise to have a plan to stay out of public places for a few days after the election, especially if you live in urban areas.

In my deep red Pennsylvania county any Judge of Elections who desired has been issued a “panic button” lanyard card linked by his/her cellphone to the EMA/911 center.

“One touch” silent calling.

Pray that none of us need it!

Ditto in Pennsylvania: Must stay >100' away, even out of uniform unless actively voting.

I remember when 'Election Day' was election day. Polls opened at 6:00AM and closed at 7:00PM and results were published that same evening.

The left started 'chipping' away at the traditional election day in 2001 and now in 2024, this is what we are left with.

Not everyone should vote. That's one of the problems; ignorant people are voting. I don't see a resolution to this (other than violence).

The only people who should be voting are working people who pay taxes. Anything else is “taxation without representation.”

I totally agree. Unless a person has skin in the game, they should not be allowed to vote.

The problem is that the voting process has become so diluted and rife with corruption that it’s virtually impossible to ensure “transparency” and “fairness”. We need to go back to the KISS formula: paper ballots, one-day voting and eliminating mail-in / absentee ballots for everyone except the military and overseas employees such as contractors.

It would be so ironic if Trump wins and Democrats riot. If Harris wins, they will quietly take down the barricades. The only rioting will involve people in masks who never get documented.

Deep blue cities are worried? Why not the red ones? I think we all know the answer to that.

I will have to park my Christianity when this happens. My Give-a-Crap is broken when I see the left burn down their own neighborhoods.

SAME TYPE OF LANYARD should be issued to every teacher...alerting office/police of trouble in the school.
