On last night’s The Weekend: Primetime on MS NOW, legal analyst and law professor Paul Butler delivered an astonishing assessment of the Supreme Court’s recent decision on the Voting Rights Act. Analogizing it to the Dred Scott decision, Butler made the absurd claim: “It’s like the Dred Scott decision, where the Court said that the black man has no rights that the white man is bound to respect.
