An axe-wielding schoolgirl from Dundee who is said to have been defending a young female from a migrant man has become a social media hero. The girl, aged 14, has been charged with possession of a bladed weapon after police were called to the scene in the Lochee district of the city at the weekend. A video that has been widely circulated on social media shows the youngster brandishing an axe and a machete. In it, she shouts at somebody off camera that they are "f***ing battering kids, mate... The word 'slogan' has an interesting etymology. It comes directly from the Scottish Gaelic term 'Sluagh-Ghairm,' or battle cry.
