A large crowd of demonstrators rallied Saturday at Cathedral Square in a star-spangled tribute to U.S. troops leading the invasion of Iraq. Waving flags and singing patriotic anthems, participants said they wanted to provide an alternative voice to balance antiwar protests that have occurred in Milwaukee and elsewhere. Police estimated that 2,000 people attended the event, dubbed "Rally for America." Russ Nicloy of Waukesha draped an American flag over his shoulders and took photographs, saying he hoped to send pictures to a friend who is among the troops in the Persian Gulf. Nicloy said he worries that widespread antiwar protests...

THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE "My son, Ben, just came back from Afghanistan. He's in the 182nd Airborne. I support our troops." -- George "We are here to counter the media-inspired anti-war protesters. We support our troops and want them to know it." -- Orange County Republican, age about 20 years (and very pretty) "People are not represented who are for Bush. I love this country. I've been out of the country and I KNOW this is the best country." -- Virginia "We're the silent majority. We go to work. We don't want war but have to counterbalance the war...

It was a beautiful sunny day in south Metro Louisville at the Millcreek VFW Post #5421 as nearly 800 people showed up to rally for America and to support our fighting men and women. The event was organized by Scott Fitzgerald, a 9 year Navy veteran and morning radio personality on AM 840 WHAS. Thanks to the Millcreek VFW Post #5421 on Lower Hunter's Trace for providing the venue. The crowd was enthusiastic and proud to stand up as Patriots to honor our military fighting on our behalf. Color guards were provided by the VFW and the local Navy Reserve...

A great time was had by all!! Freepers and lurkers and visitors from all over the state gathered to gethor to Support our Troops in Berlin Ct, at the VFW! I showed up at 9:30 and started to set up my stereo and computer, to show a slide show of pictures that Freepers had taken of the Left-Wing Hippies protesting in New York City, San Francisco, and Washington DC. Power was had through a set of plugs in the rear of the Post, and I went to work, finishing up aroung 10:00. After that, I grabbed my HONK FOR OUR...

What a beautiful morning as spring greeted the Missouri River Valley and patriots from all over the state gathered on the grounds of the Capital’s south lawn. The Columbia Post Office Freepers (joined by a few new folks) after doing their duty of irritating the peaceniks, rushed to Jefferson City to plant a flag and listen to speakers. They had plenty to say. Let’s start out by mentioning that the Missouri State Legislature passed War Resolution SR433 that states that Missouri Supports Our Troops, and supports military actions in Iraq. This flew in the face of local Jefferson City peaceniks...

It was a spirited rally at the west steps of the California State Capitol. The crowd size was estimated at about 3,500 folks from all walks of life. Good speeches, music, signs and lots and lots of flags! There were zero pro-Saddam protesters in evidence. Here are some pics courtesy of Mrs SFConservative: Note the small sign with an appropriate sentiment toward Saddam: Blasting Tiny Tommy: A biker seemingly using an old-growth redwood for a flagpole: A couple of signs directed at the weasels: Yours truly: ... and obverse ...

3500 Patriots rallied in support of our troops and our President today, at the State Capitol in Sacramento.Yes, fellow Freepers, there is still hope for the Golden State!

Just got back from the rally at Franklin Park and was glad I went. There were about 400 people. It was good to be out among people who not only support our troops but the leader of those troops and the goals they attempt (and will) achieve. It was moving and a good feeling to be among so many who grasp the situation for what it is and realize that no action is an action. No response to saddam, other than a verbal... no--no, is an acceptance of his actions. It tells the world, we accept his behavior and refusals,...

Nearly 17,000 Minnesotans converged in front of the State Capitol Saturday afternoon to rally in support American troops fighting in Iraq.

The event had been billed as non-partisan, but the two-hour event was shot through with partisanship and had moments that were fervently pro-war.

This rally was my brainstorm on Tuesday. Take some advice from me. Never try to put together a rally in four days. I arrived at the courthouse in Point Pleasant at 12:30 and found the streets pretty empty, which is normal on Saturday. I took out my flag balloon and tied it to my antennea. I stuck flag clings to my car windows, put two patriotic CDs in my changer, opened all the car windows and blasted the stereo. A lady arrived with her two grandchildren and flags. After a few minutes, my friend and FR lurker, Kathy arrived with...

Miami Freepers had a great turnout for a Rally for America today. We met at US 1 and Kendall Dr. in the shadow of the Dadeland Mall. The support from cars driving by was overwhelming with everyone honking, waving and giving the thumbs up and victory signs. The signs, flags and patriotic garb were outstanding. The event was covered by several TV stations and we even had real live marines in attendance. A pathetic counter-protest consisting of TWO PEOPLE set up shop across the street and were booed by passers-by. A great time was had by all. Any freepers that...

The Support Our Troops Rally in Stuart, FL drew an overwhelming response from traffic and produced an enthusiastic, impressive display of community support for our US and allied troops. Over a hundred folks turned out for the grassroots rally designed to elicit a consensus from rush-hour traffic, to provide pics which can be emailed to the troops and to obtain media coverage, and newspaper stories that could be sent to the troops to show support from the homefront. I'm just starting to post pics that you can email to the troops- click on image to see gallery...more coming. Inexplicitly, (or...
