Video at link. It's 4 minutes and 15 seconds in length. The first part of the video shows that Malmoe is now populated by immigrants as the Swedes have fled to other areas. At the 2:51 mark, the vlogger explains that the banks are now switching to cashless transactions. He notes that the bank will not accept cash deposits and asks questions when large sums of money are transferred. He feels that it's partly done to protect banks from bank runs it's a switch to the New World order (coming to a town near you soon?).

Businessman Percy Nilsson, 71, was perhaps best known for his ownership of his local Malmö Redhawks ice hockey team, but has lately been making headlines after a power-drill attack on an ice cream truck. On Friday, he was ordered to pay a fine of 100,000 kronor ($15,500) by the Malmö District Court. He was also sentenced to pay for the loss of income that the ice-cream truck owner faced after the vandalism. "It was a really tough sentencing and it's sad that it ended this way," Nilsson told the TT news agency. He lamented that he had already paid for...

Anti-Semitism and Malmö are words that frequently appear together. Jews are turning their back on the southern city in the wake of several incidents while potential Jewish tourists have expressed concern over the city's safety. The Local's Patrick Reilly donned a kippah for a day to find out what the situation is really like. Last month The Local received an email from a Jewish reader in America who is contemplating a visit to Sweden. "With the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe, and some very scary stuff in Sweden (Malmö comes to mind), why should a Jewish guy visit Sweden with...

  • Malmö braces for Scandinavia's largest shopping mall

    1. I'm convinced several forum members who are impressed by Sweden's Liberal policies on immigration wish to contribute in a constructive manner to this thread:) 2. Which is the biggest shopping mall on Earth? According to Forbes, no mall in the entire US enters the top ten list! (See link below) However, there are many ways to count. If you'd measure them by the number of shops, Emporia would beat number 10 on that list by around 100% even though it will have only half the size. Furthermore, the yearly combined sales of a mall like Emporia, located in an...

The conflict between the US-based Wiesenthal Center and Malmö mayor Ilmar Reepalu has taken another acrimonious turn after he was accused of anti-Semitism and echoing "conspiracy theories against Jews in the 1930s". Following a five-day visit to Malmö in southern Sweden, one of the Wiesenthal Centre's representatives, Dr. Shimon Samuels, has penned a letter in which he forwards strongly worded criticism of Reepalu, according to the local Sydsvenskan daily. Samuels has taken offence over Reepalu's comments after Monday's meeting in which he said the responsibility for policing was a matter for the police and the justice ministry in Stockholm. One...

A year after claims about an exodus of Jews from Malmö made global headlines, many Jewish residents still don't feel safe in southern Sweden, The Local's Karen Holst discovers. The past couple of years have been turbulent for Malmö's Jewish community. A spike in anti-Semitic attacks in 2009 prompted a number of Jews to leave the city altogether, concluding they would never feel accepted there. Controversial comments by the town's long-serving Social Democratic mayor Ilmar Reepalu also put Malmö in the spotlight, drawing criticism from within his own party, as well as from influential Jewish organisations aboard. And in December...

Police in Malmö now believe that more than a dozen unexplained shootings which have taken place in the city this year may be connected. "We have established a special unit here in Malmoe to investigate between 10 and 15 similar crimes ... They are all shootings with no apparent motive," local police spokesman Lars-Haakan Lindholm told AFP. While the special unit has refused to reveal exactly which cases it is looking into, Lindholm said they had in common that the victims in virtually every case appeared to be of immigrant origin and "we have no explanation for why they were...

Representatives for the Jewish Community in Malmö have slammed the city's mayor, Ilmar Reepalu, for his use of the term "Israeli lobby" in a Danish television interview. "I encounter a great many people from what one could call the Israeli lobby, who are not interested in what I say and what I think, but who do want to attribute lots of opinions to me," Reepalu said in an interview with Danish TV2. Reepalu and the Jewish Community (Judiska församlingen) have been at cross purposes of late after the mayor drew parallels in newspaper interviews between anti-Semitism and Zionism. He has...

There sure are several things which we humans can not accomplish assisted by our sheer intelligence and power of will, but there are much fewer things we are unable of achieving by using these gifts. This insight is not merely inspirational. It also is intrinsic to understanding the development of world history since the days of the Renaissance....

Malmö’s famous Turning Torso skyscraper is among the tallest housing blocks in Europe. Behind the ultra-modern exterior is one of the world's most luxurious apartment complexes, writes Paul Steele. People in the south of Sweden are total sceptics to new projects until they’re finished. The Öresund Bridge – no one will ever use it. The City Tunnel – complete waste of money. Turning Torso – Ha! Who would ever want to live there? I for one, and probably half of south Sweden and greater Copenhagen for another. One of the tallest accommodation blocks in Europe, Turning Torso is the leading...
  • Sweden struggles to integrate Muslim immigrants

"Sweden has welcomed immigrants with open arms for decades but now it is grappling with how to integrate them into society, especially in the southern town of Malmoe amid a massive influx of refugees. Once a thriving industrial town with full employment, Malmoe has seen many of its plants shut down since the 1990s. That, combined with a never-ending stream of foreigners arriving, has led to rising juvenile delinquency and rampant unemployment. Of the town's 280,000 inhabitants, a third are foreigners and 60,000 are Muslims. "

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the most spectacular soccer players ever, comes from the infamous, Muslim dominated area of Rosengård in Malmö, Sweden's third biggest city. He presently plays for the major European club of Inter Milan and has formerly been contracted by Juventus, Ajax and Malmö FF among others. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, known as "Ibra" to Italian soccer fans, is one of the very few Muslim immigrants from the Malmö region who've made major success in any area of life (another exception is Hip hop artist Timbuktu - not especially well known in the US though). Many Rosengård Muslims strive to...
