A US soldier accused of plotting an attack on a military base after fleeing his post as a Muslim conscientious objector went on trial Tuesday wearing a surgical mask and manacled to the floor. Courtroom security agents behind him wore protective goggles, an apparent reaction to an incident in which the soldier, Naser Jason Abdo, who claims to be HIV positive, bit his lip and spat blood at law enforcement officers. Investigators are still trying to figure out what made Ft. Hood Major Nidal Malik Hasan, kill 12 of is fellow soldiers and injure another 31. Little by little some disturbing facts are beginning to sneak out. Hasan has a history of psychological issues. As an intern at Walter Reed, Hasan had some "difficulties" that required counseling and extra supervision, said Dr. Thomas Grieger, who was the training director at the time. The AP is reporting that about six months ago, investigations of Hasan were initiated by enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts...

Can we get a liberal journalist to investigate that? Let's wait and see. I doubt we'll get the same kind of curiousity from liberal journalists about that.
