The Democrat establishment isn't even listening to its own supporters. As the House minority leadership prepares to plunge leftward, the rank and file thinks the party is already too far from the middle. That's one of the highlights of a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll released today. Fifty-four percent of Democrats polled said the party should moderate its "liberal" message. Also, a majority of Americans surveyed supported President Bush's strategy on Iraq and said Democrats were not tough enough in dealing with terrorism.
