Eileen O'Neill Burke's razor’s edge lead over Clayton Harris III in the Democratic primary for Cook County state’s attorney is now down to less than a third of a percentage point. The latest batches of city and suburban ballots reported on Monday left O'Neill Burke only 1,643 votes ahead of Harris —nearly a week after the polls closed. Based on the unofficial results, O'Neill Burke, a retired appellate court justice, now leads Harris, a university lecturer, 50.16% to 49.84%. The mail ballots trickling in since last Tuesday have consistently narrowed O'Neill Burke’s margin. On Monday, Harris won 56% of the...

In another case of a RINO working against the best interests of his party and of the American people broadly, Vermont’s Republican Governor, Phil Scott, has signed an election bill requiring the state to mail ballots to all registered voters. “I’m signing this bill because I believe making sure voting is easy and accessible, and increasing voter participation is important,” he explained. “Having said that, we should not limit this expansion of access to general elections alone, which already have the highest voter turnout.” Governor Scott is directly contradicting the message of his own party, and common sense. While it...

Authorities have charged a man for allegedly lighting a ballot box on fire and damaging dozens of ballots in Boston over the weekend, police said Monday. The Boston Election Department said 87 of the 122 ballots inside the dropbox were legible and able to be processed, but the rest were destroyed or unable to be counted. Worldly Armand, 39, was taken into custody late Sunday after officers matched his appearance with the description of a person wanted for the alleged arson, police said. After a query by the officers, they found Armand was wanted on a warrant out of a...

A U.S. Postal Service employee is out of a job amid an investigation into over 100 absentee ballots discarded in a dumpster in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, two political flyers were discovered by special agents with the Postal Service Office of the Inspector General. “When the investigation is concluded, the case will be presented for federal prosecution to the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Special Agent Scott Balfour said in a statement. The case has been turned over to the U.S. attorney’s office, Balfour said. Such incidents...

Alaska's Supreme Court affirmed a ruling on Monday by a lower state court that threw out a requirement for Alaskans planning to vote by mail to have their ballots witnessed and signed by a person over the age of 18. "Win for voters in Alaska! The state’s Supreme Court affirmed a preliminary injunction ELIMINATING the unconstitutional ballot witness requirement for voters. We’ll keep fighting coast to coast to protect voters from being disenfranchised amid the pandemic," wrote Kristen Clark, president of the Lawyers' Committee, on Twitter announcing the ruling. A lower court had previously ruled that enforcing such a measure...

An analytics firm bankrolled by billionaire Michael Bloomberg is predicting that while President Trump will appear to win on November 3, Democrat Joe Biden will actually win the election days later due to mail-in voting. Josh Mendelsohn, the CEO of Hawkfish — funded by Bloomberg and currently working for various pro-Biden super PACs — told Axios that his firm predicts a “red mirage” where Trump wins on election day but Biden wins the election days later when mail-in votes are counted: The reason we talk about a red mirage is in fact because we believe that on election night, we...

''Vote early and vote often'' was not just an election-year gag in Brooklyn last week as a grand jury disclosed that cemetery voting and other forms of stuffing the ballot box were not buried with Tammany Hall. Only days before this Tuesday's state primary elections, the jury said it had uncovered systematic and widespread fraud in the primaries in two of the borough's Congressional Districts - or half of Brooklyn - between 1968 and 1982. In one state legislative race, up to 2,000 bogus registrants were discovered; in another, there were 1,000. The results of at least one race were...
