RUSH: Former NBC News reporter Lisa Myers has done a Sharyl Attkisson of sorts. "In an interview published Wednesday, a former longtime member of the mainstream media took some shots at the mainstream media, contending they do not hold 'the White House or any other part of government accountable.' Lisa Myers, a former investigative correspondent for NBC News who left the network last year to work on '[her] golf game'..." I've played golf with Lisa Myers; she's good. She did a profile of me for one of the shows that was on, NBC Dateline or whatever, and part of the...

In January of 2014, award-winning investigative journalist for NBC News Lisa Meyers announced she was leaving the network after thirty-three years—supposedly to work on her golf game. However, an interview this week with the Des Moines Register gave credence to the speculation that she left because network news no longer wanted to upset the White House and other politicians. […] Meyers has made similar charges in the past: months before she left NBC, Newsbusters reported about a Meyers appearance where she called the press one of Obama’s most important constituencies. …

Sharyl Attkisson has bravely spoken out about her experiences with editorial bias at CBS News over the past couple of years, but … it wasn’t Attkisson who spoke to the Des Moines Register’s Courtney Crowder. This time the whistleblower is NBC News’ Lisa Myers, who is currently on the lecture circuit discussing her experiences as a journalist. Myers left NBC a year ago after clashing with Brian Williams over his refusal to air reports that he considered “divisive,” but that Myers considered part of the job of news organizations to keep government accountable. One of Myers’ spiked stories was that...

President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after the Affordable Care Act became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama administration has known that for at least three years. Four sources deeply involved in the Affordable Care Act tell NBC News that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent over the next year ......

As NewsBusters has been reporting, NBC News has largely ignored senior investigative correspondent Lisa Myers’ bombshell report about how the White House knew for at least three years that millions of people would lose their health insurance once ObamaCare was implemented. Having given only 21 seconds to her report Monday, the NBC Nightly News actually began with Myers talking about the millions of people losing their insurance coverage, but not once did she mention her findings that the Obama administration knew for years that this was going to happen.

The press and the left. But Lisa Myers repeats herself. Seriously, though, Myers did make a stunning admission along such lines on today's Morning Joe? H/t NB reader Pam. Describing the harm done to President Obama by the AP spying scandal, NBC senior investigate correspondent Myers said the effect of the scandal has been to turn "one [sic] of the President's most important constituencies, the press and the left, against him." Did Myers make a double Freudian slip in describing the press and the left as "one" and the press as an Obama constituency? View the video here.

Too bad this particular report didn't include an expert that was railing against the TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) bailout before it was passed last October. They could have said, "I told you so." Global banks lending money to other countries including "the playground of the Middle East" may have angered Congressmen, but Lisa Myers investigation didn't point out that those critics of how the banks lent money voted for TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) in the first place. In a segment on March 11 "NBC Nightly News," Myers, NBC's senior investigative correspondent, probed into why three particular banks -...

Is the Pentagon spying on Americans? Secret database obtained by NBC News tracks ‘suspicious’ domestic groups. WASHINGTON - A year ago, at a Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth, Fla., a small group of activists met to plan a protest of military recruiting at local high schools. What they didn't know was that their meeting had come to the attention of the U.S. military. A secret 400-page Defense Department document obtained by NBC News lists the Lake Worth meeting as a “threat” and one of more than 1,500 “suspicious incidents” across the country over a recent 10-month period.

WASHINGTON - Four years after the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, Taliban and al Qaeda fighters are showing renewed strength, using suicide bombs and rocket-propelled grenades. They are even training the next generation. Since June 2005, 54 Americans have been killed in Afghanistan, by far the most lethal period since the U.S. invaded. Behind some of the most deadly attacks is one man, a 35-year-old Afghan who calls himself “Commander Ismail.” In his first interviews with Western media, Ismail brags about killing three Navy Seals this summer, then downing a Chinook helicopter that came to rescue them, killing another 16 Americans. Commander...

There are new allegations that heavily armed private security contractors in Iraq are brutalizing Iraqi civilians. In an exclusive interview, four former security contractors told NBC News that they watched as innocent Iraqi civilians were fired upon, and one crushed by a truck. The contractors worked for an American company paid by U.S. taxpayers. The Army is looking into the allegations. The four men are all retired military veterans: Capt. Bill Craun, Army Rangers; Sgt. Jim Errante, military police; Cpl. Ernest Colling, U.S. Army; and Will Hough, U.S. Marines. All went to Iraq months ago as private security contractors. "I...

In tonight's broadcast, Lisa Myers contributed a report about young Saudi terrorists fighting US forces in Iraq. The report included interviews of some of their families and commentary on the origins of these terrorists. The most remarkable aspect of this report was Myers' use of the word "terrorist" instead of "militant" or "insurgent" to describe these terrorists. It has been some time since I've seen an Old Media report use the word "terrorist" other than when quoting a source.

One of John Kerry's superior officers disputes the circumstances Kerry claims led to the awarding of his first Purple Heart NBC's Lisa Myers conducted the following interview with Rear Adm. William L. Schachte (USN Ret.) in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 24, 2004. Portions have been edited for clarity. Myers: When did you first meet John Kerry? Adm. William Schachte (U.S. Navy, ret.): In Vietnam in 1968. I was – like everyone, by the way, serving on small boats in combat in Vietnam – I was a volunteer. When John reported aboard, I was then the lieutenant and the senior, second...

Lack of documented proof hasn't stopped critics from questioning John Kerry’s medals After a month of charges and countercharges about John Kerry's record in Vietnam, his critics have not come up with documented proof to back up their primary charges. It's a tangled case of conflicting memories, and lingering questions. There's a new challenge from Adm. William Schachte (USN, ret.), who contributed to two Bush campaigns. Schachte raises questions about Kerry's first Purple Heart. "I was in command of those missions and I was in the boat that night," he says. In an interview with NBC News, Schachte claims Kerry...

While most of the establishment media continue their relentless assault on President Bush's military service and keep ignoring rival Sen. John Kerry's mansion-size closet of skeletons, NBC News is finally reporting at least on Kerry's scandal of special interests. NewsMax today acquired a transcript of Monday's broadcast of "NBC Nightly News," which is creating a buzz among those who have seen it. Reporter Lisa Myers, following up on charges brought by rival candidates John Edwards and Howard Dean, noted that "Kerry now brags about standing up to special interests, he actually has sat down with many of them, inviting a...

What did hillary clinton know and when did she know it?And was she part of it? Yet MoreCNNs of Commission, Rapist Demagogues and 9/11 by Mia T, 4/9/99, updated 4/19/03 Sins of omission and commission are not circumscribable... and CNN's shameless revisionist efforts will not make them so. the movie Nothing demonstrates this principle of unboundedness better than the clinton rapes. You will recall that the protectors of the impeached rapist rapidly became the protectors of marauding Milosevic rapist-guerrillas. Had the protectors of the impeached rapist denounced the Milosevic rapists, they would have thrown a monkey wrench into the Senate's show-trial deus ex machina of choice, willful ignorance. And so the rape of Albanian...
