I was curious about who would come after Pelosi if Biden and (for some reason) Harris are out. Holy Crap!!!! It's scary!!!! Below is the current line of succession for the President of the United States: 1 Vice President Kamala Harris 2 Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi 3 President pro tempore of the Senate Patrick Leahy 4 Secretary of State Antony Blinken 5 Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen 6 Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin 7 Attorney General Merrick Garland 8 Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland 9 Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack 10 Secretary of Commerce...

On his way out the door, Obama also rewrote the line of succession in cases where the AG recuses himself. (I didn't know there was such a previously-planned chain of succession.) He specifically wrote one senior guy out of the succession, and re-routed the succession to go right to his friendlies. Amid Thursday;s over-hyped brouhaha about Jeff Sessions meeting with the Russian ambassador, a curious detail emerged. In Sessions's recusal memo, it was explained who at the Justice Department would be handling any investigations into the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia. "Consistent with the succession order for the Department...
  • If Obama is proven ineligible to be president, then WHO would be president?

Okay, assume Obama is determined to be ineligible to be the president due to him not being a natural born citizen of the United States. That would mean that neither he nor Biden would be eligible since he was elected under false pretenses. It is quite possible that Pelosi will be facing charges up to treason for her part in this mess. Byrd is physically unable to take the office. And the rest of the Cabinet were appointed by Obama and would equally be ineligible as all of his appointments were unconstitutional. My guess is that if this goes down,...
  • France sees "explosion" of terrorism in Iraq as US unveils new resolution

France said a formerly terrorist-free Iraq has seen as "explosion" of terrorism since the war, as the United States rallied support for a rejigged UN resolution to bolster reconstruction efforts. And while Iraq's interim government was to take a major bow on the international stage at the United Nations, the diplomatic flurry made little or no impression on the ground in Iraq where and Americans and Iraqis continue to die on a daily basis. Three US soldiers were killed in a span of hours Wednesday as the Americans pressed their drive to root out resistance to their nearly six-month-old occupation....
  • French royal claimant cannot call himself Bourbon, court rules

Henri d'Orleans, count of Paris and rival pretender to the throne of France, is banned from using the ancient royal name of Bourbon because it was abandoned by his family in the 17th century, France's high court of appeal ruled. The decision scuppered Orleanist hopes of reclaiming the dynastic title, which will now remain with the senior branch of the royal house -- represented by Louis Alphonse de Bourbon, duke of Anjou and the other contender for the throne. The Cour de Cassation confirmed a lower court answer to a plea lodged by the 70 year-old count of Paris shortly...
