Who Is Norma Jean? Some youthful videographers approached Congressman Lincoln Davis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3if8I_H98M It was all well and good until they mentioned some woman’s name — Norma Jean. Then the Congressman fled and his Chief of Staff shoved the cameraman. That all begs the question — who is Norman Jean? It isn’t Mrs. Davis. That much we know.

Copied from a discussion at tngunowners.com: Has anyone else heard the ad put out by the Lincoln Davis campaign slamming Scott DesJarials? In it Davis is portraying Scott as quite a troublemaker, having run ins with the law and even "firing a unloaded gun." I don't know much about either of these guys. They aren't in my district but if Scott has discoved a way to fire a gun without bullets I think he is the kind of genius we need in government. Maybe he can invent a way to run the gov. without taking any of our money.

UPDATE: The poll is revealed, so my source says to put it out there. Scott DesJarlais has a five-point lead over Lincoln Davis (D., Tenn.), but 21 points among the highest-interest voters. The Bottom Line Congressman Lincoln Davis’ negative attacks appear to be backfiring. Over the last two weeks, Davis’ image has taken a hit and his ballot support continues to dwindle, falling to 40% now. More importantly, Scott DesJarlais now leads on the ballot and has the clear momentum with just 18 days to go. Key Findings Scott DesJarlais has taken the lead over Congressman Lincoln Davis. After pulling...

When's the last time you heard Catholic bishops praise the Democrats on the abortion issue? Don't worry—I can't remember either. But Cardinal Justin Rigali, who chairs the Committee on Pro-Life Activities for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, issued a letter today urging passage of the Pregnant Women Support Act, the Democrats' main legislative vehicle for their "abortion reduction" program. During Barack Obama's presidential inauguration, Rigali quietly convened a meeting of antiabortion activists to devise a strategy to combat an expected Obama/Democratic assault on antiabortion policies, so this is a significant development. Rigali has written to all members of the...

Superdelegate Davis slow to endorse Obama By John Rodgers, jrodgers@nashvillecitypaper.com Updated: Friday, June 13, 2008 2:33 am The rise of Sen. Barack Obama, to become the Democrats’ presidential nominee has put most of his party’s faithful on his bandwagon — but not Lincoln Davis, a rural Tennessee Congressman with gubernatorial ambitions. Davis (D-Pall Mall) is not yet endorsing the presumptive nominee in Obama, saying he’ll wait until the late August Democratic Party national convention. In Davis’ sprawling 4th Congressional District — which ranges from as far west as Hickman County to as far east as the upper Cumberland Plateau —...

WASHINGTON — House Republicans are attempting a procedural move to force a vote on an immigration bill that could divide Democrats in an election year.U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn., is among several House Republicans who have signed a discharge petition to bring the Secure America with Verification and Enforcement Act up for a vote. The petition would bypass the usual process of getting bills through congressional committees. The bill, which many liberal Democrats oppose but moderates in the party support, would add 8,000 border patrol agents and increase deportations. It also would revamp a federally run electronic legal-verification program that...
