ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A small group of rioters took to the streets of Albuquerque Sunday night after a mostly peaceful Black Lives Matter protest. The rioters smashed out windows, started fires in streets and shot at police. Organizers of the Sunday march said those who turned to violence and vandalism were not part of their group. "I think we want to move away from black and brown folks being violent or aggressors. Like, that's not our thing. We just want to be heard, we just want to start a movement and open up a conversation,” said Hossanna Scott, an organizer.

The attack that left Republican Sen. Rand Paul with six cracked ribs outside his Kentucky home came after a long-simmering disagreement with a 17-year neighbor over grass clippings, according to a report. An acquaintance of both men said the fellow doctors stood in their yards about 10 years ago and shouted at each other about grass clippings that Paul’s lawn mower sprayed onto Boucher’s property, the Washington Post reported. The feds said they are investigating the case, in which Boucher could be charged under federal statutes that include a provision that bars assaults on members of Congress and other high-ranking...

McCormack was working on his tractor trailer at a gas station in Whakatane, on the North Island’s east coast, when he slipped and fell, landing on a broken high pressure air valve.

Iran’s nuclear energy chief, Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that the country needs more nuclear power to cut its carbon dioxide emissions, which are blamed for global warming. This announcement comes just after the country struck a deal to curb their nuclear ambitions in order to ease international sanctions. Salehi told Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency that he sent a letter to President Hassan Rouhani asking for funds to build new nuclear power plants, adding that Iran’s parliament has already passed legislation ordering the construction of several power plants to produce 20,000 megawatts of power. Salehi also said that...
  • CBC apologizes for 'Harper-heil' graphic, says it was a bad cut-and-paste job

The CBC has apologized to a viewer who complained that a news graphic appeared to juxtapose the name of the prime minister-designate with the German word "heil" -- a salute usually associated with Adolf Hitler. The graphic was flashed during Tuesday night's edition of The National. It appeared beneath a shot of a Stephen Harper election sign. In an e-mail to the viewer, the executive producer of The National explained the graphic was a freeze frame of typing intended to promote the show's "campaign confidential" segment. An editor chose to capture part of the word "their" for the graphic and...

I decided to change my ways. After a lot of soul searching, I've realized that the GOP does not have my best interests in mind. I can no longer support an administration and a party that cannot look beyond the immediate future and see the long-term consequences of their actions. I've thought about where this administration's policies will leave me and my future family in 30, 40, 50 years....and I do not like the picture. I never thought I would say this, but I'm turning blue. While some of you may call me a jackass, I am now proud to...

According to court records, he met Julio Blanco, a self-described "lonely gay man." Blanco testified that Nahum said he wanted to have a "good time" and to "party." While Blanco...
