The CBC has apologized to a viewer who complained that a news graphic appeared to juxtapose the name of the prime minister-designate with the German word "heil" -- a salute usually associated with Adolf Hitler. The graphic was flashed during Tuesday night's edition of The National. It appeared beneath a shot of a Stephen Harper election sign. In an e-mail to the viewer, the executive producer of The National explained the graphic was a freeze frame of typing intended to promote the show's "campaign confidential" segment. An editor chose to capture part of the word "their" for the graphic and with a cursor before the "r", it seemed to spell heil. "We sincerely apologize for that," the e-mail said.

How do you say, "Fake but accurate in French?"
Peter Mansbridge is getting long in the liberal tooth anyway.
Reminds me of the "X" story and VP Cheney. The industry seems to be full of these idiots.
Just like the X's across Cheney a few months ago. The act gets old.
Yea, it's almost sad how obvious they are about their bias.
just angry loser liberals throwing feces again, seen it before and hopefully we will see it again. :)
That is what I thought.
I could see, if it were almost anyone else but the parties involved, how this could be explained away as an "innocent mistake." But someone did this intentionally.
Of course the clowns have to apologize quickly. Talk about bashing your new boss loudly in public, and knowing that he will know it is you who did it, is a bad career move.
I think as time goes on and the "Main Stream Media" gets less and less important, they (the MSM) will become more and more obvious about their bias.
Okay. I watched it and I have judged for myself.
It was a deliberate and brazen smear job, and that "executive producer" is a liar and a scumbag.
Lol! Brings back memories!
How come none of these so-called mistakes ever happen to liberals? Coincidence? I think not.
Nothing will top that Republican TV ad from a few years ago where the end of the word "Democrats" ("rats") was accentuated in a subliminal way and somebody from the dark side noticed it and whined about it publicly. Now "rats" is a normal, everyday way of referring to the Democrats! Perfect!
At least the Republicans did it in a TV ad that they paid for. The rats, on the other hand, can just sit back and let their allies in the dying socialist "mainstream" network newsrooms do their dirty work for them. Gladly and for free.
The Convntion, right?
A Canadian Freeper said that the CBC brings that up against conservative candidates every election. Sounds like NPR/CPB...
I doubt that it was unintended. However, when Bush was first elected and being [verbally] attacked by crazed
Canadian officials, they did report that then-PM Chretien defended Bush by saying "George Bush is not an idiot.
He is my friend" and followed up by saying "Note to Mr. Chretien: Do not repeat the charge (insult?) when defending..."
