Former Louisiana Legislative Auditor Dan Kyle announced today he is dropping out of the race for governor. He expected to make 1 million in the bank by now but says he was not able to reach that amount. Rumor has it he may run for Insurance Commissioner instead. The remaining Republicans in the race are Bobby Jindal, Jay Blossman and Hunt Downer.

<p>BATON ROUGE - Former Legislative Auditor Dan Kyle, a Republican candidate for Louisiana governor, alleges that a political leader he declined to identify asked for $25,000 to "take care of the votes in this area."</p>
<p>Kyle, kicking off a statewide tour Monday in Baton Rouge, said the money could be legally paid because it was for "voter canvassing" permitted under Louisiana campaign law. But once paid, Kyle said the money could be spent to buy votes.</p>

<p>A poll by the Republican polling firm Basswood Research shows state Sen. Ken Hollis gained momentum in southeastern Louisiana last week.</p>
<p>The poll, conducted in the New Orleans metropolitan area media market, indicated Hollis leads 11 other gubernatorial candidates with 27 percent of the vote. Hollis, R-Metairie, said the second-closest candidate in the poll was at 16 percent.</p>

A new Air Force recon has picked up winds in tropical depression kyle that were at tropical storm strength. Storm is expected to make landfall around Central/Southeast Florida on Friday night/Saturday morning.Not expected to be a major storm but might pack winds up to 55mph. This is an FYI for all Floridians for the weekend. Kyle has managed to hang around for almost 3 weeks now and was supposed to be nothing by now.
