WEST ALLIS - Republican governor candidate Tim Michels said Thursday his party is united in the wake of a tough primary and disclosed that he received an election night telephone call from his biggest national booster, former President Donald Trump. Two days after his win, Michels toured the Wisconsin State Fair, where he was accompanied by his running mate Roger Roth, nominated for lieutenant governor, and attorney general nominee Eric Toney. Former long-time Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson also joined Michels. "We're not presenting a united front, this is a united front," Michels declared as he spoke with reporters. "This is...

Rebecca Kleefisch met with former President Donald Trump this week at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Wisconsin Right Now can exclusively report. Kleefisch, the former lieutenant governor, is running in the Republican primary for governor. Trump has still not endorsed anyone in the Republican primary for governor. A Trump endorsement would be a game-changer in the primary race, of course. On Friday, March 11, 2022, Wisconsin Right Now heard about the Kleefisch-Trump meeting from two well-placed sources. Our sources are not close to the Kleefisch campaign. The Kleefisch campaign could not be reached for comment. Word had already spread that...

I'm at a Victory Rally for Paul Ryan in Waukesha WI. About 3000 showed up for an 8 am rally. Great intro by Lt Governor Kleefisch. Waiting for the man of the hour.

WAUKESHA, Wis.-- The largest crowd of the campaign so far for a Mitt Romney event welcomed home favorite son Rep. Paul Ryan at a massive rally here in the congressman's district Sunday night, pushing the GOP's vice presidential nominee to tears as he took the stage, setting off cheers with two simple words: "Hi mom." With that, voice cracking, Ryan showed his Wisconsin credentials to a crowd the Romney campaign hopes will be emblematic of the charismatic congressman's support in the Badger state, a reliably Democratic enclave the Republican candidate hopes to turn red this fall. "My veins run with...

Rebecca Kleefisch is facing a Recall of her own, that is independent of Gov. Walker's, that is being funded by the unions and the liberal left and with the election only 14...

This is what we see time and again at the hands of the same Left that manufactured a month's long non-troversy over a word Rush Limbaugh spoke. While, on one hand, the left and their media allies feign outrage over Limbaugh, on the other hand, they either willfully ignore or launch vile, sexist attacks against conservative women that go well beyond anything that can in any way be called satire or humor. Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch is a wife, mother, and a cancer survivor. She's currently being targeted for recall and by some of the ugliest personal attacks you'll...

Roger Breske understands state Senate District 12 better than most — he did, after all, represent it for 18 years. The longtime Democrat knows what it will take to win the seat now that his successor, Democratic Sen. Jim Holperin of Conover, has opted not to seek re-election in the north-central Wisconsin district; state Rep. Tim Tiffany, R-Hazelhurst, has announced his intention to run for the seat. “Well, for one thing, it’s going to take a lot of work because it’s a big district. It’s huge, and you only have three major cities … And the rest (including parts of...

The war on Wisconsin by Michelle Malkin Creators Syndicate Copyright 2012 Now is the time for all good tea partiers to come to the aid of Wisconsin. Fiscally conservative leaders in the Badger State are under coordinated siege from Big Labor, the White House, the liberal media and the judiciary. The yearlong campaign of union thuggery, family harassment and intimidation of Republican donors and businesses is about to escalate even further. This is the price the Right pays for doing the right thing. The most visible target is Gov. Scott Walker, who faces recall on June 5 over his tough...

MADISON — Joel Kleefisch said the nastiness can be relentless. But the verbal assaults on his wife, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, and his family are the most hurtful, he said. “One of the protesters yelled at me, ‘Your wife’s an effing whore,” said Kleefisch, a Republican state representative from Oconomowoc. “It’s abhorrent and in no way a form of expression that we should protect.” These are politically charged days in Wisconsin, where angry, profane, abusive speech has become more common than any time in recent memory, state political watchers say. Political expression, it seems, has become all the more pitched...

MILWAUKEE - You might be a skeptical of petition problems Michael Zore brought to TODAY'S TMJ4 because of his background. Zore was convicted of voter fraud five years ago after he claims he accidentally voted twice in the same election. "The goal for the whole of process is transparency," Zore told TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Tom Murray. Turns out, this career computer guru uncovered a problem that took the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board most of the day to explain. He discovered hundreds of pages of petitions missing from the GAB's website. "Scanning forms in and posting them to a website should...

Madison - Gov. Scott Walker is raking in money at a pace not seen before in Wisconsin politics as he prepares to face the state's first-ever gubernatorial recall, taking in more than $4.5 million over five weeks. In just over a year, Walker has raised more than $12 million in campaign donations - more than he spent to win the seat in 2010 - and despite sizable spending in recent weeks still has $2.6 million in cash in the bank, according to figures released Monday by his campaign. The Republican governor has traveled the country to raise money in recent...

An extensive court-ordered review of signatures submitted to recall Gov. Scott Walker and five others will take longer than the planned 60 days and require the state to invest $100,000 in new software, the head of the state board charged with that process said Thursday. Government Accountability Board Director Kevin Kennedy said it was not clear exactly how much longer the review will take under the more stringent verification process ordered by a judge last week. With a 60-day review and a primary _ assuming no other delays caused by lawsuits or other action _ the general election would not...

OTTAWA - Are right wing politicians better looking than left wing politicians? That’s what a group of Finnish and Swedish researchers claim. The study, titled The Right Look: Conservative Politicians Look Better and Their Voters Reward It, had 2,513 non-Finnish respondents evaluate the facial appearance of 1,357 Finnish political candidates. The result, right wing candidates were deemed hotter. Female candidates on the right had a larger “beauty gap” over their left wing opponents than men did. The researchers argued that when the candidates were less well known, such as in municipal elections, looks play a bigger role in swaying voters....

Rebecca Kleefisch, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, is a proud Christian woman. She's a wife and mother who drives a minivan, clips coupons and has what she calls "kitchen-table common sense." She also boasts a large Tea Party backing for her ultra-conservative beliefs and platform. Sound familiar? You betcha! "Kleefisch is very Sarah Palin-esque, and she's embraced that," notes UW political science professor Barry Burden. "It's easy to see a lot of similarities in their backgrounds, their identities as mothers, their concerns on size of government and their folksy approach." Indeed, Kleefisch has long drawn comparisons to the Republican...
