Kerry County Council enforcement officers are to be equipped with sound monitors to test the sound levels of street singers, under new bylaws adopted by councilors this morning in Killarney. They will also decide on the quality of the music under the terms of the bylaws. The regulations had been out for public consultation and just two submissions had been received, both from An Garda Síochána. As many as seven people were shot overnight at a New Year's Eve party in the southwest Calgary neighbourhood of Killarney, including two people in critical condition, police say. Det. Steve Adair said city police received multiple 911 calls from the 1900 block of 36th Street S.W. at about 5:05 a.m. MT Thursday.
