BEAUMONT, Texas (KFDM) - Detectives say they have been told by a credible witness that a 22-year-old Beaumont, Texas man shot and killed 19-year-old Kera Teel last week. Teel was seven months pregnant and her baby, Kyndal Jae Teel, died shortly after emergency delivery. BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police have arrested a 17-year-old Beaumont woman in connection with several aggravated robberies linked to the murder of Kera Teel and her newborn baby daughter. Atayanna Asia Nicole Douglas,17, of Beaumont, was arrested in Lake Charles, on Tuesday and transported to the Beaumont Police Department to speak with investigators according to a release from the police department. Detectives are investigating the case as a capital murder. During the robbery, Kera Teel, who was seven months pregnant, was fatally shot. A pregnant mother expecting her second child was shot dead by a trio of robbers as she returned home from a doctor's appointment. Kera Teel, who was seven months pregnant, was in a car with her mother when two men walked up to the vehicle and opened fire. Her unborn daughter, who she and husband Andrew had decided to name Kyndal Jae, was delivered at hospital but died as a result of the attack.
