PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — A star Florida high school quarterback playing for a Georgia university died after more than 50 gunshots were fired into the car he was driving. Ladarius Clardy, 18, was found dead with several gunshot wounds before dawn Thursday after the vehicle he was driving crashed at a Pensacola intersection. Local news outlets report an unnamed 19-year-old passenger underwent surgery for gunshot wounds Thursday at a Pensacola hospital. The passenger’s condition was unknown early Friday. Clardy was attending Kennesaw State University in suburban Atlanta, where he had played in several games. Clardy’s father is a longtime youth...

A Kennesaw State University student has filed a lawsuit accusing university and elected officials of violating her civil rights during a dispute over her decision and other cheerleaders to kneel during the national anthem at football games last year to protest police brutality and racial discrimination. Tommia Dean, a sophomore, said in her complaint, filed Wednesday, that the officials conspired against the cheerleaders by keeping them off the field during the anthem after the first protest. She accused two elected officials, Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren and state Rep. Earl Ehrhart, R-Powder Springs, of attempting to stop the protests because...

Militant snowflakes at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia did their part to combat what they called “violence” by shredding other people’s signs at a free speech event: The signs contained messages such as, “Abortion is murder #DefundPlannedParenthood,” “There are only two genders,” and “The gender wage gap, Harry Potter, Both Fantasy.” Javid Ona, president of the College Libertarians at KSU, told Campus Reform that the signs were posted by individuals as part of a free speech event and did not necessarily represent the views of all the groups involved, noting that there were “groups from across the political spectrum.”...

A 22-year-old Cobb County woman was charged with the shooting death of a Kennesaw student during a road rage incident that is slowly attracting national attention. Kimberly Kilgore, 21, and Sparkles LaShayla Lindsey’s lives couldn’t be more different. The popular Kennesaw State University student loved country and western music, and she took pride in her vast collection of cowboy boots. Lindsey emulated the thug life that was glorified by the rappers she idolized. According to published reports, Lindsey, of Austell, had a criminal record that most rappers would envy. The two women’s lives intersected on a darkened stretch of Shiloh...

The creation of a new department at Kennesaw State University that would house various racial, gender and environmental programs has come under fire from one longtime KSU professor who sees it as a hive for radical indoctrination. In the next month or so, KSU Interim Provost Dr. Ken Harmon will determine whether to greenlight a new department within KSU's College of Humanities and Social Sciences called The Department of Cultural and Regional Studies. That department would have seven academic programs under its banner: African and African Diaspora Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, Environmental Studies, Asian Studies, Latin American Studies, Peace...

If you see our culture sliding into the abyss, go to www.ajc.com and register your vote regarding the following: one of the two scenes in a stage play at Kennesaw State University has a nude actress offering her breast to a (food) hungry man. Right now the votes are running about 50 some to 40 some --- pro nudity.
