But a senior Democratic leadership aide told FOX News on Thursday that Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and a majority of Democrats "do not support this action by Kerry and Kennedy. A Democratic member of the Senate Judiciary Committee said Sunday he believes Samuel Alito will get an up-or-down vote on his Supreme Court bid. "We should commit," said Sen. Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell of Kentucky told CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that the Republican Party now has the votes in the U.S. Senate to stop any planned Democratic filibuster of the president's judicial nominees. "There's no doubt in my mind, and I'm a pretty good counter of votes ... that we have the votes we need," McConnell said on the Sunday morning news program. That quickly brought out a spokesman for Harry Reid to challenge that claim.

I would rather not say who for my privacy, but I am working for a US Senator and we have been innudated by calls all today in opposition to the nuclear option. The vote will be today.
