James Franco is being accused in a new lawsuit of pressuring his acting school students to get naked for auditions while he dangled promises of movie roles that rarely panned out. The suit, filed by Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal, says that both women were students at the L.A. branch of the Studio 4 school -- which Franco co-founded -- back in 2014. The women claim Franco, and other instructors, engaged in "inappropriate and sexually charged behavior toward female students." Actor James Franco has written a lengthy endorsement of his former employer, McDonald's. The brand has been struggling with declining US sales and announced an extensive turnaround plan this week. Sony Pictures is triumphant today because their release of the North Korea-inspired comedy The Interview by Seth Rogen and James Franco had an estimated sales of $15 million over the weekend from largely online sales. The movie was schedule to be released in about 3,000 theaters, but because of “terror” threats, it was released in a limited number of theaters and online.The revenue is about $5,000 per canceled theater, or about 300 people per theatre. “The Interview” —  the Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy about killing Kim Jong Un at the center of the Sony hacking scandal —  had it’s world premiere last night in Los Angeles. Leading up to the premiere, a series of scary cyber attacks hit the studio, releasing everything from employees’ Social Security Numbers to execs’ entire email inboxes. So it was no surprise when Sony announced that the premiere would be low key, with just a red carpet for photo-ops but no interviews. Judging by Franco’s Instagram photo from the movie’s premiere party, the film’s stars aren’t too worried.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday morning that actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway will host the 83rd annual Oscar telecast Feb. 27 on ABC -- a move that certainly seems designed to help the academy achieve its long-held goal of attracting a younger viewing audience.
