McDonald’s has finally revealed why it does not have records to verify Vice President Kamala Harris’ claim that she worked at one of its restaurants in the 1980s. In a memo emailed to McDonald’s USA franchisees the corporation confirmed that while Harris had “fond memories” of working at a location in Alameda County, “we and our franchisees don’t have records for all positions dating back to the early ’80s.” A copy of the internal letter was posted by an anonymous McDonald’s franchise on social media and confirmed by the Wall Street Journal. During a rally with fast food workers in...

Like many recent college grads, Rep. Elijah Cummings' (D-MD) daughter Adia sought to earn some extra cash by driving for Lyft, a ridesharing service. Unlike most recent college grads, Adia was driving a car with congressional license plates--which is against the rules. After someone posted a picture of the car on Popville, Cummings apologized for his daughter's use of the plates. He then said that he would swap out the plate and that the car was not his official vehicle.Per the House of Representative rules, the plates are "only for the use of the Member and spouse, as well as...

Batten down the hatches and wait for the storm to clear. That’s the advice veteran Washington Democrats are urging on a White House that has been embattled for a full two weeks by the triad of controversies revolving around the IRS, Benghazi and the Justice Department’s seizure of reporters’ phone records. No-one expects the pressure to let up anytime soon. “There is blood in the water and the sharks are circling,” said Jim Manley, who spent years as the top communications aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) before moving on to a career at a lobbying firm. “The...

Remember Lois Lerner? She's the IRS official who requested a reporter to ask a planted question at a news conference, ostensibly so she could answer said question with a prepared statement, revealing publicly that the IRS had indeed, targeted certain conservative groups for more intense scrutiny. That came as no surprise to those of us who have paid attention. I actually wrote about this issue in February 2012. We know this happened. It is not here say or rumor. It is a fact. Now that Congress is getting into the act of asking the IRS to account for its actions,...

Someone claiming responsibility demanded $1 million not to make them public.
