  • Leaked NPR Emails: Call Kermit Gosnell a “Doctor” Not an “Abortion Doctor”

NPR described Kermit Gosnell as an “abortion doctor” back in 2013 when a Philadelphia court convicted him of murdering babies. But last month, the taxpayer-funded radio group rejected an ad that used the exact same term to describe Gosnell, claiming it is not “value neutral,” according to The Daily Beast. The makers of the movie “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” have been hitting roadblocks since they began their project more than four years ago. Their struggles started when the crowdfunding site Kickstarter refused to allow filmmakers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney to fundraiser there. They later broke...

From Whitewater to Travelgate to "Bimbo eruptions" to Benghazi and much more, Hillary Clinton has managed to survive scandal, but it's time for the people to serve as her "judge and jury," contend the makers of a new documentary. Now in production and scheduled for release during the general election campaign, "Hillary Clinton; Above the Law" will seek to 'indict and prosecute' Clinton in "the court of public opinion" for alleged crimes and obstruction of justice, including the "biggest case of campaign finance fraud in U.S. history." The producers, led by Douglas Cogan, are raising funds for the documentary through...

This story is based on true events, substantiated by court and official documents, investigative reports, and first-person accounts, some by the Clintons themselves. Throughout her political life, Hillary Clinton has skirted, usurped, obstructed and otherwise existed above the law, both literally and figuratively...until now. With your generous contribution we will bring to the screen; into the court of public opinion, Hillary Clinton: Above the Law; a film which will serve to hold Hillary Clinton accountable for her actions. From the producers of HILLARY! UNCENSORED and the authors of The Fraudulent Senator comes a film that finally calls Hillary Clinton to...

Top 10 lists are popular this time of year, so I gave in to the peer pressure. Here’s my Top 10 list of totally true climate stories of 2014. Kind of like that movie “Fargo”, which was not “based on a true story”, but was a totally “true story”. 10. Weather did not even occur before Henry Ford automated the production of the automobile. No, really, look it up. 9. Climate modelers discovered that the Earth is not warming nearly as fast as their models predicted. A multi-billion dollar effort is now underway to make the climate system warm even...
  • Idaho inventor pushes solar panels for roads, highways

The solar panels that Idaho inventor Scott Brusaw has built aren’t meant for rooftops. They are meant for roads, driveways, parking lots, bike trails and, eventually, highways. Brusaw, an electrical engineer, says the hexagon-shaped panels can withstand the wear and tear that comes from inclement weather and vehicles, big and small, to generate electricity. “We need to rebuild our infrastructure,” said Brusaw, the head of Solar Roadways, based in Sandpoint, Idaho, about 90 miles northeast of Spokane, Washington. His idea contains “something for everyone to like.”

In the first month since posting their project on Indiegogo, Idaho couple Scott and Julie Brusaw raised over $400,000, and were rapidly approaching half of their $1 million goal in the Friday prior to Memorial Day weekend. Their idea? Solar roadways.

Solar RoadwaysJulie and Scott Brusaw. There are about 31,251 square miles of roads, parking lots, driveways, playgrounds, bike paths, and sidewalks in the lower 48 states. If Julie and Scott Brusaw have their way, they will all someday be replaced with solar panels. For the better part of a decade, the Idaho couple has been working on prototyping an industrial-strength panel that could withstand the weight of even the largest trucks. They now appear to have cracked the formula, developing a specially textured glass coating for the panels that can not only bear tremendous loads but also support standard tire traction. By their...
  • Electric Avenue: Solar Road Panels Offer Asphalt Alternative

A lot of thought is put into how much energy we use to drive from point A to B. But what if the road itself could generate energy? Julie and Scott Brusaw, a married couple from Sandpoint, Idaho, have taken on just such a concept, which they hope will make the auto transport of the future cleaner and safer. The idea is as simple as it is ingenious. Wherever roads are laid, solar panels could go instead. They would generate electricity, which would in turn be fed into the grid. Thus, oil is conserved twice: Electric cars could be charged...
  • Solar Collector Could Change Asphalt Roads Into Renewable Energy Source

ScienceDaily (Aug. 14, 2008) — Anyone who has walked barefoot across a parking lot on a hot summer day knows that blacktop is exceptionally good at soaking up the sun’s warmth. Now, a research team at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has found a way to use that heat-soaking property for an alternative energy source. Through asphalt, the researchers are developing a solar collector that could turn roads and parking lots into ubiquitous—and inexpensive–sources of electricity and hot water. The research project, which was undertaken at the request of Michael Hulen, president of Novotech Inc. in Acton, Mass, which holds a...
  • The Left's New Insult: "Go Fund Yourself"

A significant number of Americans seem to no longer understand our constitution, our system of government or the structure of our legal system. The outcry over crowdfunding support for litigants is a good example. When Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana, was forced to shut down because of threats, supporters rallied to help them, raising over $800,000 on a GoFundMe fundraising page that had been set up for that purpose. The left went ballistic. It wasn't enough that the owners of the misbegotten restaurant had been given a public flogging for an opinion the press had solicited (as opposed to an...
  • SF Crowdfunding Site Indiegogo Raises Money for Cop Who Killed Walter Scott

San Francisco-based crowdfunding website Indiegogo has allowed a fundraising campaign for the former South Carolina police officer who fatally shot Walter Scott. A campaign called the Michael T. Slager Defense Fund has at press time raised $1,250 of a $5,000 goal with 58 days left. 45 people have contributed money so far. Indiegogo “allows anyone, anywhere to fund ideas that matter to them and just like other open platforms — such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter — we don’t judge the content of campaigns as long as they are in compliance with our Terms of Use," a representative told Mashable....
  • Kermit Gosnell, the one serial killer Hollywood won’t touch

If what the media publishes daily is any indicator, Americans seem fascinated with killers. We’re confronted with headlines about the likes of Oscar Pistorius, Amanda Knox and Jodi Arias. When the news is slow, Americans can change the channel to procedurals, such as “Law and Order: SVU” and “Criminal Minds.” When the procedurals lag, producers and directors come up with serial-killer-glorifying programs like “Dexter,” which just finished its eighth season last year, or the 2007 mystery thriller, “Zodiac.” It’s strange to see Hollywood refuse to touch the story of the worst serial killer in America’s history — and to see...

In protest of the crowd-funding site’s “censorship” of his TV movie project about convicted abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, McAleer commissioned a bold billboard near Kickstarter’s Brooklyn headquarters. Modal Trigger Photo: AP “Kicked out by Kickstarter,” reads the giant sign, which was put up on Tuesday afternoon. “Gosnell movie raises $1 million … and counting! To the public — we say ‘Thank you!’ To Kickstarter — we say … ‘You Stink at Censorship!’” McAleer raised funds for his last film, “FrackNation,” on Kickstarter, so the filmmaker didn’t think twice about turning to the site again for his latest project. But soon...
