INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Shocking new details emerged Tuesday, just a day after a mother was jailed on charges she neglected her children, causing their death. 24-Hour News 8 obtained the police report where Edyan Farah tells police officers she locked her five children in the closet and did not feed them.

City police said a downtown college student of Arabic decent whose 8-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son were left home alone Friday told officers he didn't know he couldn't do that.

The Pew Hispanic Center released a sobering report this week reminding us about the bleak education outlook for the nation's largest minority group. The most worrisome stat? More than half of all foreign-born Latino adults in the U.S. are high school drop-outs. That's compared with 25 percent of native-born Hispanics. THE American government is to resettle 5,800 refugees from Nakivale refugee camp in Isingiro district to the United States, Prosy Katura, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) protection officer, has revealed. Katura said a team has already been sent to Nakivale to scrutinise the refugees to ensure they have no links with al-Qaeda, an extremist group. The American taskforce at the camp will also study files of individual refugees since they arrived in Uganda. On Wednesday, the staff at Anaheim Medical Center became suspicious of the story given them by Juana Perez Valencia, 19, who though showing all of the signs, claimed she had not just given birth. Orange County deputies arrived and questioned her, eventually finding the corpse of her newborn daughter in the dumpster behind Sombrero’s restaurant, where Valencia works as a waitress.
