A second proposal was also revealed in Governor Gavin Newsom's January budget that would help 700,000 undocumented adults ages 26 to 49, beginning in 2024. Russia invaded Ukraine about two months ago, resulting in millions of Ukrainians fleeing to escape the war. Neighboring countries have responded admirably, opening their borders and offering refuge. The European Union went further, creating a new temporary immigration status that grants displaced Ukrainians work permits, free health care, and other benefits. EDINBURG, Texas (CBP) – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents disrupted three human smuggling events and encountered two large groups resulting in 322 apprehensions. On April 26, Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint agents, after a K-9 alert, referred a truck pulling a flatbed trailer carrying large metal sided boxes to the secondary inspection area. Agents observed a vent, approximately 16 inches by 6 inches on one of the boxes and removed the vent to reveal 40 migrants in a seated position trapped inside. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania reported that a Cumberland County man has been indicted for allegedly threatening President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. Mohamed Farah, 32, was indicted by a federal grand jury. The indictment alleges that Farah, who is a citizen of Somalia, in January threatened to assassinate Biden, as well as threatened to assassinate Trump if he runs for re-election. The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service, FBI and Lower Allen Township Police.

A Texas National Guard soldier has drowned while trying to rescue migrants in a river at the state’s border with Mexico, multiple sources told Fox News on Friday.
