Assuredly, parents shall eat their children in your midst, and children shall eat their parents. I will execute judgments against you, and I will scatter all your survivors in every direction. Skynet. Ultron. HAL-9000. These are but a few artificial intelligence systems that have gone rogue in films. Whether The Creator can produce a fictional AI that would make a mark on popular culture remains to be seen, but it is another movie that pits humanity against artificial intelligence. Its official website says the movie is about Joshua, an ex-special forces agent recruited to hunt down the Creator. That's the architect behind the advanced AI that was developed to protect humanity only to detonate a nuclear warhead in Los Angeles. The Creator apparently also developed a weapon with the power to...

He said they were called to the hostel at about 12:30...

As a bonus for being a T-Mobile customer, I receive Netflix for free. I hardly use it as I am not much interested in the Netflix produced original content. But I saw a trailer for a new series titled “1899”. I guess I am a sucker of four funnel liners filled with pretty women in Late Victorian-Edwardian clothing. I watched the first episode. I did enjoy the opening episode and one was thrown right into the story. The overall feel was coldness thanks to the cinematography and score. The score I could best describe as Steampunk Industrial. One thing I...

One of the first known cases of Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) “vaccine” adverse effects being passed down from mother to baby has come to light, demonstrating the dangers of the shots for women who are or who later decide to get pregnant while being “fully vaccinated.” Little Zack Reilly is now missing an arm, reports indicate, after it had to be amputated almost immediately after his birth when it was discovered that the child had developed blood clots in both his now-removed left arm as well as his brain. The child was reportedly delivered in an emergency caesarean at 37 weeks...

For its many flaws, the world of cryptocurrency has bequeathed to the English language a vivid new verb: rug-pulling. As its idiom-derived name suggests, rug-pulling is when a crypto developer hypes up a new coin or new project, gets ordinary people to invest in it, and then - all at once - shuts it down in such a way that they take all of their investors’ cash with them. It is a spectacular act of bad faith, a breach of trust so severe that it casts doubt on the entire cryptocurrency community, so-called. Yesterday, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia...

Americans are being urged to stop using any of 285,000 adult portable bed rails after the deaths of at least three people who suffocated after becoming caught in one of 10 models of the product. Neither company has agreed to recall the beds or offer a remedy to consumers, according to the agency. At least three people died after becoming entrapped in the products, including a 78-year-old...

The Brood X cicada rises from its slumber once every 17 years, but some of these guys overslept. Experts say it’s not uncommon to see some cicadas come a year or two later. An expert from Mount Saint Joseph University says these stragglers coming out of the ground now has to do with soil temperatures. Just like us, cicadas like the warmth and once the soil gets to a temperature over 64 degrees, they start to rise to the occasion once again.

Local market horror TV hosts have helped us through nights for decades, using their quirky personalities to introduce popular, creepy or plain old bad movies - in most instances these were the pre-cable days that lent themselves to captive audiences. The popular figure that embodied this genre was Elvira (Mistress of the Dark). Unknown to an unfortunately large number of people, her meteoric rise would not have happened without local horror tv hosts building their audiences. A few of these horror hosts became icons and gained national attention for their characters. However, most of these hosts were only seen locally...

Ahead of the 20-year anniversary of 9/11, former President George W. Bush is looking back on the moment he found out that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center — and that an attack was underway in America. In the new BBC documentary 9/11: Inside the President's War Room, Bush details the emotions he felt when he first learned about the attack on Sept. 11, 2001. His reaction was famously captured on camera during a previously scheduled school trip. At the time, he was visiting Emma E. Booker Elementary in Sarasota, Florida, where he was reading to a...

My fav Halloween movie has always been The Haunting, 1963, derived from Shirley Jackson’s novel, The Haunting of Hill House. My father encouraged me to read the novel when I was pretty young, 12 or so. I do think it greatly influenced me, as I went on to believe the house was haunted. I now think that was probably teenagers imagination. But the movie was so well done. It very much is an art form. What is yours?
