Yum Brands operates three fast-food restaurant giants: KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Of those, only Pizza Hut has a well-established delivery business. Taco Bell and KFC could soon be next. Yum ( YUM ) Chief Executive Greg Creed told analysts on Wednesday that there is potential for food delivery across all three of its chains, saying Taco Bell delivery in particular could be “a massive sales driver for the brand.” “What we want to do is get into a test, probably a couple of stores near a couple of college campuses,” Creed said. At-home delivery makes up a tiny...

Mail delivery to the doorstep may be a thing of the past as lawmakers consider ways to cut costs to save the cash-strapped U.S. Postal Service, which lost $16 billion in 2012. According to CNN Money, the agency is working toward a more "centralized delivery" approach in which residents pick up their mail from a mailbox at the curb or at clusters of mailboxes within their neighborhoods. The practice already is being adopted for new houses and developments, and some House Republicans want it rolled out universally. "A balanced approach to saving the Postal Service means allowing USPS to adapt...

One of the hardest parts of Jim Pastor's job is convincing people that he exists: He's a milkman. "The reaction is always the same," Pastor said. "People say, 'Really? A milkman? Like in the old days?' They always have a hard time believing it." Pastor owns a Santa Ana-based delivery service that contracts with Rockview Farms, one of the largest family-owned dairies in Southern California. Each week, Pastor and his team of 14 milkmen drive their refrigerated trucks to more than 4,800 homes along routes in Los Angeles and Orange counties. They arrive in the wee morning hours and dash...

If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary." James Madison hen the founders granted 'The Press' special dispensation, they never considered the possibility that traitors in our midst would game the system. But that is precisely what...

Police in Halifax have busted an operation that sent dealers to people's homes to deliver telephone orders of crack cocaine, magic mushrooms and other drugs. Fifteen people were arrested early Monday after a five-month investigation by the combined RCMP and Halifax Regional Police drug unit. Investigators estimate the highly organized "dial-a-dope" dealers were receiving and filling hundreds of telephone orders per week. Supt. Fred Sanford of the Halifax Regional Police said this kind of operation is "new in our area, but it has been discovered in other parts of Canada." Officers conducted 10 raids starting at 6:30 a.m. Monday. In...
