Based on a tip Roseville police received recently from a man dying from cancer, the Local 4 Defenders have learned forensic anthropologists will help the Roseville Police Department dig for former union leader Jimmy Hoffa at a house in Roseville. Hoffa went missing July 30, 1975 and was declared dead seven years later on July 30, 1982. The Defenders have learned a man who is seriously ill and dying from cancer told Roseville police he saw men moving a black bag at the house's garage hours after Hoffa went missing more than 35 years ago.

The disappearance of Teamsters union boss Jimmy Hoffa remains one of America’s most enduring mysteries. But now, nearly four decades after Hoffa vanished, his driver has claimed he knows where he is buried – and how he got there. Marvin Elkind said Hoffa was killed by a mob enforcer and buried in the foundations of the towering General Motors’ HQ in Detroit, Michigan. ‘It was his own people who did it,’ Mr Elkind said in excerpts of a new book published in the New York Post, adding Mafia member Tony Jack insinuated he was responsible.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Occupy LA movement grew by the thousands Wednesday as unionized workers, caregivers and their patients joined the call for an end to corporate greed and Congress to put Americans back to work. The demonstrators held large signs, chanted loudly and blew whistles as they marched through the streets of downtown Los Angeles to the steps of City Hall. Organized by the Service Employees International Union, the demonstration was in support of President Barack Obama's American Jobs Act....

New York (CNN) -- As the Occupy Wall Street protesters rally for a third week, social media sites such as Twitter seem to be spurring similar protests in other cities. A Twitter account called Occupy Boston mentions a citywide college walkout there Wednesday. The association says the protest will be part of the opening day activities for a national nursing convention in Boston.

Calling Americans “Sons of Bitches” and threatening to “take us out” is entirely in line with the low rent character of Jimmy Hoffa junior. Having been raised at the knee of a criminal who specialized in extortion theft and betrayal of those who depended on him, Hoffa is a rotten apple who did not fall far from the poison tree. Since his rise to power on the backs of other, equally as corrupt but less cunning and soulless, Teamster Union thugs Hoffa has always wallowed in whatever mud ….. in order to line his pockets. During his successful effort to...

Sometimes when we look at events in isolation we see them as tragic or despicable or just lamentable. When we look at them together as a group however we come away with a completely different impression. They can seem to form a pattern or a picture that was hardly discernible when seen in isolation. The following is a collection of just such events. Earlier this year Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, seeking to save the state from financial ruin, set about to adjust the way the state dealt with public employee unions. The result was a demonstration of force and the...

Editor's note: Monday's letters about a Labor Day vow by Teamsters general president James Hoffa to "take . . . out" his political opponents continue to generate a lot of interest from Newsday readers. Hoffa stood by his comments during a radio interview on Friday with KIRO-FM in Seattle. Here's an excerpt:"I'm talking about the tea party Republicans who are trying to take away everything that labor has fought for, who frustrate the president when we try and put America back to work, who are out there trying to pass right-to-work, and who are trying to take away collective bargaining...

Just days after Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa urged a union crowd to “take out” tea party “sons-a-bitches,” the White House is touting the union leader’s endorsement President Obama’s $447 billion jobs plan. The White House on Thursday forwarded a news release from the Teamsters saying that Hoffa applauded Obama’s measures. “Congress must pass President Obama’s plan now,” Hoffa said. “The jobs crisis is an American problem. It isn’t President Obama’s problem, and it isn’t a Republican or Democratic problem. All Americans need to come together to create good jobs for the good of our economy and the good of our...

Henry Ford, the creator of the United States' affluent working middle class, identified Mr. Hoffa as what he is decades before Hoffa's birth: A spokesman who does not work in the shop, who does not work in any shop, whose sole ambition perhaps is never again to have to work in a shop, is usually the "bargainer," and it is from what he says or does that many employers draw their opinion of the men in the shop (Ford Ideals, 1922). ...Mr. Hoffa also accused the Tea Party of "waging a war on workers," which reinforces Ford's advice that workers...

No sooner had we issued our editorial “Jimmy Hoffa’s War” than a wire came in from one of Sarah Palin’s most assiduous supporters, Benyamin Korn, with a copy of her Labor Day posting on Facebook. Our editorial had wondered where the original Jimmy Hoffa would have been today. It remarked on the phenomenon of the Reagan Democrats, who comprehended that the true interests of working men and women in America lay with the idea of economic growth. And it remarked on the need for someone who makes this point today. Well, Mrs. Palin's riposte is a humdinger. It turns out...

LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — Hundreds of Longshore workers stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha. Six guards were detained for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said. No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested. Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting brake lines and spilling grain from car at the EGT terminal,...

The Left’s working motto consistently turns out to be “do as I say, not as I do.”  How else could they possibly make bold pronouncements to the media but live the exact opposite? The day before his declaration of war on the Tea Party movement, Teamsters President James Hoffa appeared on CNN and deemed American companies as “unpatriotic,” according to the Political Ticker. “I think the president should challenge the patriotism of these American corporations that are sitting on the sidelines,” Hoffa said. “The problem in America isn’t that we don’t have enough money. We’ve got more money than any...
