A plane toting a streamer reading “BI-DONE!” soared over a star-studded fundraiser in the Hamptons Saturday where the President was rubbing elbows with big-time Democratic donors. The opinionated aircraft flew from Montauk to Sag Harbor — made famous last week by Justin Timberlake’s DWI arrest — making sure to sweep past the ritzy event at the home of hedge-fund billionaire Barry Rosenstein and his wife Lizanne. Sources told The Post that a local Republican donor paid for the banner. Whether Biden himself saw the message is another story — he and First Lady Jill Biden spent the afternoon schmoozing with...

Thunderbird Italien Ford Ford CEO Jim Farley stopped by The Smoking Tire podcast earlier this month to talk vintage sports car racing, EVs, and driver assistance, so if you’re a fan of events like the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion, you should give it a listen. We also took note of some of Farley’s comments about the new car market—comments specifically about cars rather than SUVs. “I do not like generic cars and trucks,” said Farley as he railed against “appliance-like vehicles” while defending Ford’s decision to leave the sedan market. It’s a segment that Ford hasn’t completely written off for...

Has anyone hear ever heard about an air conditioner soft start module ? A sure-start made by hyper engineering in Australia. It takes sort of an electrician mind to install this. Module is used to stop electrical surges that flicker lights when a big a/c starts up. Can also be used if you are a prepper and want to run stuff off-grid with an inverter. Mine is only 4 years old and not working right anymore. But one can't tell when there is a good utility power source. It fails when one is off-grid for a power failure. Sort of...

Sporting goods store owners in Cody had a hard time comprehending a photo on Yellowstone: Invasion of the Idiots that showed a canoe tied horizontally on a Subaru. Both said they had never seen anything like it before and expressed dismay at today's gene pool. Jen Mignard, founder of the "Yellowstone National Park: Invasion of the Idiots" Facebook page couldn't believe it when she saw this canoe strapped sideways on top of a Subaru. (Jen Mignard, "Yellowstone National Park: Invasion of the Idiots") Something has to be pretty astounding to shock Jen Mignard. As the founder of “Yellowstone National Park:...

The age of your spirits can be the difference between something lackluster or a life changing cocktail.Wine people approach the storage and consumption of their collections rigorously. There are apps for tracking the most optimal moment for a bottle of wine to be consumed, wine refrigerators have multi-zone technology to store Bordeaux at a different temperature than Champagne, and wine service is a whole other area of nuance. Consumers aren’t nearly as precious about their spirits. Liquor bottles are typically stuffed on a bar cart, in the back of a cabinet, or buried somewhere in the freezer. But spirits, liqueurs,...

“I’m like, ‘Oh, you gotta be kidding me,’” Sandusky Co. Deputy tells driverNewly released video of a traffic stop along Route 20 west of Fremont shows body cam footage from a Sandusky County Deputy. He had just pulled over a USPS Mail Van for speeding, going more than 100 mph in a 60 mph zone. “Is there a reason you’re going over 100?” video shows the deputy asking the driver, to which the driver replies, “I didn’t realize I was going that fast.” According to the traffic report from Sandusky County, the van had no plates and the driver appeared...

At this time of year, a reservation with Chill RV Rentals isn’t usually the easiest to come by. The Los Angeles-based company’s 16-camper fleet is typically booked solid, with the RVs oftentimes reserved weeks in advance. That’s just not the case this year, said Nika Shneyder, who started the recreational vehicle rental business with her father in 2016. Bookings are light; plus, the people who are traveling are taking shorter trips, she said. “We’re definitely seeing demand for RV travel slowed down compared to previous years, and I don’t think it has to do with people coming out [the pandemic]...

While Russia and Santa Cruz aren’t often mentioned in the same breath, when it comes to Wilder Ranch State Park, a shared history features betrayal and a land grab. The sprawling 7,000-acre park just 4 miles west of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk is filled with coastal views, but on a recent morning, I found myself entranced by a local historical tale involving a husband accused of forging documents to remove his wife and her family from the deed. When hiking through this part of the California coastline — where sandy beaches, marine life and a magical sea cave coalesce —...

It used to be that lasers were big bulky expensive things that required a laboratory to run and an entire factory to build. I remember the first He-Ne laser I saw two decades ago, the size of a small telescope and probably not more powerful than the laser pointer I carry on the keychain nowadays. Well, not anymore. It's pretty easy to build a laser today, on the kitchen table or in the garage, for a surprisingly small investment. The goal is to make a laser capable of burning small objects, such as a piece of paper, a balloon, etc,...

Czech company UDX is flying scale prototypes of a tandem 2-up eVTOL it calls Airwolf. With individually-tilting ducted fan propulsion, it's got enough wing surface for efficient cruise flight as well as agile movement from a hover. Imagine waking early Sunday morning to ride the twisty coastal mountains of beautiful southern California. It's going to be a perfect day and you expect exactly zero traffic, because you're leaving the Hayabusa in the garage and taking your UDX Airwolf hoverbike. You don your lid, crank up your favorite tunes, spin up the ducted fans, lift off and hover out of your...

Yes, we mean something other than the Tesla Cybertruck. You can’t really go wrong with a pickup truck. They’re like the Swiss Army Knives of the automotive world. Wanna haul or pull some crap? There’s a bed and you can tow. Wanna carry people? There’s a number of cab configurations to suit your needs. Want one with luxury features that rival a BMW 7 Series or Genesis G90? You can drop six figures for a truck that’ll coddle you. This isn’t to say that they’re all good. Take the Hyundai Santa Cruz, for example. It was first shown as a concept...

Some people living near Jack's Peak Park are on edge after a reported bear sighting. Officials say it is rare in the area and only happens every few years. Neighbors say this is something they never thought they'd see in their community. Images show the bear casually strolling through the La Mesa neighborhood in Monterey just before 3 a.m. on Sunday. The bear was described as having long, shaggy brown fur and standing about three feet tall and four feet wide. "I kind of freaked out because I lived out here my whole life, and I've never even heard of...

Souo's first motorcycle has a 4-valve, DOHC, 8-cylinder, 2000cc engine - that's two 1000cc four-cylinder engines joined together. All the liter sports bikes now produce more than 200 horsepower, so we expect that 400 hp would be relatively easily achievable should Souo desire to make a further splash when the horsepower figures are announced.Souo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We love an adventurous startup, but GWM's new "clean sheet" motorcycle company announced last Friday really does look ominous in its potential to disrupt the established motorcycle industry order. The privately-owned Chinese "Great Wall Motor Company" (GWM) started making cars in 1984, yet it has...

We've said it before: the '70s was a vibe—a very amber-ish brown, dark orange, and avocado green vibe. We even recently took a fun trip down memory lane with our list of some of the most iconic objects from the '70s. It's funny, we often think of the '70s as a light-filled, super hippy, peace-love-and-understanding time in history. But at home, when it came to color, things were pretty clunky, dark, and, well, dull. Nothing had more of a '70s vibe than the heart of the home: the kitchen. Technology and gadgets really came in hot during this decade, with...
