Republican Dave McCormick will be the next senator from the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, even as networks refuse to call the race and incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) refuses to concede.
McCormick declared victory Thursday afternoon.
“McCormick is up 30,679 votes with more to come, as ruby red Cambria County is still outstanding,” McCormick campaign communications director Elizabeth Gregory said in a statement. “While votes continue to be counted, any way you slice it, Dave McCormick will be the next United States Senator from Pennsylvania.”
With more than 95% of the vote in, McCormick had 3,337,473 votes to Casey’s 3,306,240 — a lead of 31,233.

This is a pleasant surprise. This was a good year for Republicans in PA. The state-level party is coming back after Dem dominance for a while.
That is one oxygen waster that needs to be gone yesterday!
Not so fast-—in PA 0.5% or lower triggers and auto recount.
Let’s hope they don’t put that worthless Rino Thune up as SML.
Excellent. Who called it? I bet it was not the AP. Also, is this now 53 Senate seats?
🎶 ba da bump bump bump, Another one bites the dust 🎶 😁😁
What izzit with Democrats refusing to concede?
Seems to be a common trait..................Algore, Hilliary, Harris..................
If you had an efficient and honest voting system, 4 other Democrats would be getting replaced by Republicans.
In Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan, all 4 had extremely close senate elections and it looks like Republicans are going to lose all 4.
The powers that be seem to think that after Cambria totals are added, the lead will exceed 0.5%.
McCormick himself (his campaign manager, actually) declared himself the winner. The campaign says there aren't enough votes for Casey to overtake them.
Nobody else has called it though.
McCormick would be the 53 Republican in the Senate.
Sam Brown is 13,300 votes behind (46.7% - 47.7%) Jacky Rosen in Nevada with 91% of the votes counted.

I just looked at AP. They just called it for McCormick
This has been the best election!! It was too big to rig!
Good!
Winning these last two seats will take a lot of power from the Murkowski wing of the Senate!
They will not have the same power to guide policy as they accustomed to having.
This has been an awesome couple of days.

This is why deep red counties have to sit on their totals.
the left can’t cheat if they don’t know how much they have to cheat.
I just saw where the AP also gives the win to Dave McCormick. So that is 53 seats in the Senate. Thank God for that. Now onto the House.
I live in California and there has been virtually no movement in my House No. 45 race since last night. It has been stalled between 66-70% depending on who you are looking at. Steele(R) is currently ahead by 10,000 votes.
isn’t it amazing. democrats win 100% of “close” races.
