A new poll shows that 54% of registered voters believe that Governor Gavin Newsom is focused on his own presidential ambitions, versus 26% who believe he is focused on his job and the state — a two-to-one margin. The University of California Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies (IGS) poll, conducted in April among 6,201 voters, with a 2% margin of error, also found that Newsom’s approval and disapproval are at 46%. A release accompanying the poll explained: The survey … finds that Californians continue to hold very mixed and highly partisan views of the job Gavin Newsom is doing as...

A hapless arsonist who tried to burn down a Tesla charging station in protest at President Trump and Elon Musk ended up setting himself on fire, according to authorities. Daniel Clarke-Pounder, 24, burned down three EV chargers in a South Carolina parking lot Friday — where he scrawled “f–k Trump,” and “long live the Ukraine,” according to federal prosecutors. He was seen throwing five Molotov cocktails — one of which left him on fire, according to witnesses who saw him fleeing the North Charleston lot. Witnesses said “that the suspect had accidentally caught their own back on fire while throwing...

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” host Lawrence O’Donnell stated that “Elon Musk himself, personally, could pay for the entire budget of USAID, the entire budget, by himself, without missing that money at all, and easily, easily pay for all of the life-saving work that USAID does.” And “He says USAID isn’t doing it right, but why doesn’t he just step forward and show us how to do it right with his own billions? That, of course, will never happen.” O’Donnell said, “So, one of the ugly truths of this is that, unlike anyone else in the history...

President Joe Biden ruled out the idea of pardoning himself, explaining he had not thought of pardoning himself because he “didn’t do anything wrong.” During a press conference at the White House, Biden was asked if he had “ruled out” issuing a pardon for himself or “any other additional members” of his family. In December, Biden issued a “full and unconditional pardon” of his son, Hunter Biden, regarding “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.” “Have you ruled out...

In an interview set to air Sunday, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said she doesn’t believe former President Trump when he said it would be very unlikely that he would pardon himself. “I don’t believe him on anything,” Clinton told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki. “Why should I start believing him on that?” In an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, Trump said it’s not likely he will pardon himself if he is convicted of a crime and elected president again. “I could have pardoned myself. Do you know what? I was given an option to pardon myself. I could have pardoned myself...

DALLAS — Twenty years later, veterans are reflecting on their service and remembering fallen comrades. Iraqis are talking about how their country has changed and how it has not. American lawmakers are debating whether to finally repeal the legislation authorizing the invasion. One person not heard from in recent days: former President George W. Bush. That is how he wants it. He has no interest in being part of the debate anymore. He did what he did and does not engage in second-guessing, at least not out loud. He knows the questions he would be asked if he spoke out...

A New York federal judge on Monday ruled that the U.S. Virgin Islands and women who accuse the late investor Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse can proceed with lawsuits claiming that JPMorgan Chase knowingly benefited from participating in Epstein's sex-trafficking scheme. In addition, the judge allowed parts of a separate, similar lawsuit by Epstein's accusers against Deutsche Bank, including the claim that that bank also knowingly benefited. The four-page ruling by Manhattan District Judge Jed Rakoff came in response to motions from JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank to dismiss the three lawsuits.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani says Gov. Andrew Cuomo will “resurrect himself in some way” because he’s “smarter and more talented” than other disgraced pols. “Andrew will resurrect himself in some way. He’s a very, very tough guy, determined guy. He’s a fighter. “He’ll find some way to resurrect himself.” Giuliani also bashed Attorney General Letitia James’ independent probe of Cuomo’s alleged rampant sexual harassment, claiming James wanted him out of Albany so she could run for governor, in a Wednesday interview with WABC radio. “What she did was so unethical. She should be disbarred for doing that,” President Trump’s former...

The prison guards who slept while Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself planned to defend themselves as scapegoats of a dysfunctional system if they had gone to trial, sources have revealed. Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, who admitted sleeping and browsing the internet instead of watching the billionaire pedophile the night he killed himself in his New York jail cell, last week avoided time behind bars in exchange for their cooperation and community service.

He doubted the vaccine. He threatened to sue the federal government over its dispersal. He railed that he didn’t trust President Trump. Yet there was Gov. Cuomo, preening for the media as Queens critical care nurse Sandra Lindsay became the first person in the US to get the life-saving COVID-19 vaccine. As usual, Andrew had to make it all about himself.

Federal investigators discovered a loaded gun in the Manhattan jail where financier Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide last year. Investigators with the Bureau of Prisons began searching the facility last week after receiving information that a loaded gun had been smuggled inside the jail, a serious violation of security, according to the Associated Press. The bureau has faced significant pressure to improve its security practices after Epstein, who was facing charges of rape and sex trafficking, was found dead in his cell on Aug. 10. Attorney General William Barr named a new Bureau of Prisons director last week: Michael Carvajal, a...

'We will be destroyed from within when we give up an understanding of the Constitution' Much ado has been made in recent political campaigns about identifying America’s biggest threat. Is it ISIS? Russia? China? North Korea? Actually, the greatest threats to the United States and the preservation of its freedoms come from within, Republican Alabama Senate nominee Judge Roy Moore believes. Moore became the GOP nominee for the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now U.S. attorney general, by defeating establishment-endorsed Luther Strange in the primary. He will face Democratic nominee Doug Jones in the Dec. 12 election. Moore told...

Barack Obama was out stumping for the ailing Hillary Clinton today, but that didn’t stop him from talking about himself. A lot. The president rallied with Clinton supporters in Philadelphia and when doing so, managed to mention himself 137 times. --- At one point, after running down a list of what he considered accomplishments of his presidency, someone in the audience shouted out about lower gas prices. “Thank you for reminding me,” he replied. “Thanks, Obama,” he said to himself. He later took the opportunity to “vent” about the way the media is covering the campaign.

News & Politics 0:23 While announcing his new executive actions on guns, President Obama spoke today about the pain of having to give speeches after mass shootings. He also spoke about meeting Gabby Giffords shortly after she was shot, and noted that she opened her eyes for the first time just an hour after his visit. He spoke about his support for the Second Amendment, his background as a constitutional law professor, his critics, his frequent trouble locating his iPad, and perhaps most memorably, his anger when thinking about child victims of mass shootings. If it's starting to sound like...

RUSH: Okay, so I'm working here at the office late yesterday, and I walked in, Kathryn's here. She leaves about 10 minutes before I do. I get home, I park in the garage, I head into the kitchen, and she is... Actually, she greets me at the door from the inner sanctum of the estate, the garage. She's laughing uproariously. I say, "What in the world is going on?" She says, "Trump... Trump..." She waves me to follow her. So I take my stuff in, and the dogs attack me. They love me. They see me and they think DOG...

President Obama, speaking to an audience of mostly young people celebrating India’s Republic Day in New Delhi on Tuesday, told the crowd, “I realise that the sight of an American President as your chief guest on Republic Day would have once seemed unimaginable.
