A multi-institutional team of engineers in China has developed a new type of brain-computer interface (BCI) that can be easily slipped in and out of the ear canal. In their project, reported in the journal Nature Communications, the group set out to design and build a new kind of BCI that is less invasive than existing devices. A brain-computer interface is a device that allows communication between the brain and a computer—though to date, most such devices are one-directional. They are used to listen to brain waves for such applications as converting them to text or to electronic signals that...

Hope you have a blessed day. my $0.02 for the day, jimjohn - OUT.

A group 50 Venezuelan migrants, some of them children, landed on Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday. The migrants arrived by plane at Martha’s Vineyard Airport. According to Geoff Freeman, airport director at Martha’s Vineyard Airport, the name of the charter was Ultra Air Charters. He said it was two planes that arrived at the airport and not one as was originally reported. Fox News is reporting that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking credit for sending the migrants to the Island and shared video with that news outlet. In 2021, DeSantis vowed to spend $8 million to send immigrants out of...

Kyiv, Ukraine--The Biden administration should allow the Pentagon to deploy U.S. military advisers to Ukraine to help coordinate the billions of dollars of arms flowing into the country and to keep better tabs on the weapons, members of a bipartisan congressional delegation visiting Kyiv said Saturday. "I think we should do more," Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., the first Green Beret elected to Congress, told Fox News after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "That said," Waltz continued, "it should come with appropriate safeguards, with appropriate oversight and the only way we can get that oversight is to actually have some advisors...

Sen. Lindsey Graham says he was simply “saying hello” to Vice President-elect Kamala Harris when he fist-bumped her on the Senate floor. The friendly exchange was caught on video during a Tuesday vote on a Federal Reserve nominee — despite Graham’s claims of voter fraud in the election. “Just saying hello. I haven’t seen in her in a while,” the key ally of President Trump told CNN’s Manu Raju. “If it works out and they make it, I told her I wish her well and try to work where we can. We will know here in a month or so...

In what many are calling “The End” for Ted Cruz’s presidential bid, Donald Trump ran away with the North East, sweeping PA, CT, RI, MD, and DE in epic Trump-fashion. It will become increasingly difficult for an already mathematically eliminated Ted Cruz to continue to justify staying in a race after this monumental shellacking. Ted has defended his odd decision to stay in the race by claiming that Trump has no path to 1237. After tonight’s humiliating defeat will anyone seriously buy what Ted’s trying to sell?

Vanity. Well, after the last Presidential election, I was so crushed by the results, I jumped into my work, never coming up for air. I was so miserable and depressed as well as disappointed in my fellow Americans' lack of common sense and lack of vision that I became a hermit. I managed to kick the habit of being a political junkie. But, this cycle has given me hope for the Republic!

Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, a makeshift boat carrying nine Cuban rafters landed in front of Key Biscayne’s multi-story oceanfront Mar Azul condominium. As the rafters – all men in their 20s, 30s and 40s - scrambled ashore, Mar Azul residents came out to take a peek, said Police Chief Charles Press. One condo resident shot video of the rafters as they walked away from the boat, which had inner tubes on the sides and what appeared to be an engine in the back. The words Brayan and Yoanni were painted on the back. Several were wearing soaked T-shirts, shirts and...

America, the Dependent by Michelle Malkin Creators Syndicate Copyright 2011 So much for the new era of fiscal responsibility. The federal government’s dependency drones have been spared the chopping block. After vowing to eliminate funding for President Obama’s bloated $6 billion AmeriCorps social justice army, House Republicans retreated — and will shrink the AmeriCorps budget by a minuscule 6.7 percent. Politicians originally sold AmeriCorps as an alternative to big government — a program to “renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community throughout the United States.” With bipartisan support, the program has morphed into an all-purpose progressive...

A "Black Widow" suicide bomber planned a terrorist attack in central Moscow on New Year's Eve but was killed when an unexpected text message set off her bomb too early, according to Russian security sources. The unnamed woman, who is thought to be part of the same group that struck Moscow's Domodedovo airport on Monday, intended to detonate a suicide belt on a busy square near Red Square on New Year's Eve in an attack that could have killed hundreds. Security sources believe a spam message from her mobile phone operator wishing her a happy new year received just hours...

Judea and Samaria Police receive between 30,000 and 40,000 abusive calls from Palestinians every month, The Jerusalem Post has been told. Police operators at the Judea and Samaria phone center undergo special training to learn how to distinguish between abusive and real calls, and a computerized phone system is used to screen out the bogus callers, Ch.-Supt. Nir Carmeli, head of Judea and Samaria Police’s Control Room at district headquarters in Ma’aleh Adumim’s E1 (Mevaseret Adumim) neighborhood, said on Thursday. “Without the screening, we would be getting 90,000 to 100,000 bad calls a month,” Carmeli said. The calls range from...

MOSCOW. (RIA Novosti political commentator Andrei Kislyakov) - Barely a month into the new year, the military have already attracted a lot of attention. Following a mild verbal skirmish over ABM components after the holidays, Russian and foreign generals have decided to talk in the open. In a move that mirrors recent discussion amongst Russia's own top brass, NATO's April summit in Bucharest is widely expected to discuss a report on a potential pre-emptive nuclear strike. According to The Daily Telegraph, the authors of the report are convinced there is a real risk that terrorists could lay their hands on...

Ah, the modern age of telephone technology. It can work wonders, even if you don't have a phone. Or a table to put it on. Or a roof to sleep under. Simon and Kari Wollam learned that firsthand when they walked into Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Thursday after another night of being homeless in San Francisco, and in 10 minutes each had their first voice mail accounts in more years than they could remember. They still have no home. They still don't have telephones. But now at least, they said, they have a tool that could help them get...
