HOUSTON, July 28 (UPI) -- A federal judge in Houston Thursday dismissed a suit trying to keep Texas Gov. Rick Perry from attending a prayer event next month. U.S. District Judge Gray Miller, an appointee of President George W. Bush, dismissed the case after finding the plaintiffs, a group advocating the separation of church and state, had no standing, ABC News reported. To sue, plaintiffs must show "standing" -- that they have suffered some harm. The judge cited a ruling by a federal appeals court in favor of President Obama promoting a "national day of prayer."
