HOUSTON, July 28 (UPI) -- A federal judge in Houston Thursday dismissed a suit trying to keep Texas Gov. Rick Perry from attending a prayer event next month.

U.S. District Judge Gray Miller, an appointee of President George W. Bush, dismissed the case after finding the plaintiffs, a group advocating the separation of church and state, had no standing, ABC News reported. To sue, plaintiffs must show "standing" -- that they have suffered some harm.

The judge cited a ruling by a federal appeals court in favor of President Obama promoting a "national day of prayer."

Perry, a possible Republican presidential candidate, has called for a national day of prayer and fasting to be held at Houston's Reliant Stadium Aug. 6.

ABC: Court Allows Rick Perry to Participate in Prayer Event .........."The lawsuit against Perry was filed by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a state/church watchdog group which believes Perry’s involvement in the event violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. The plaintiffs did not want to stop the rally from occurring but wanted the courts to bar Perry from promoting or participating in the event in any capacity......"

Vanity: I Want to Thank Rep. Nancy Pelosi “I want to thank Representative Nancy Pelosi for standing up and reminding Americans that the ethical core and the psychological heart of a progressive is to be a preening narcissist, camouflaged as a social redeemer…………………..”

The group sought to prohibit Governor Perry from expressing his own religious freedom.

Look, whether you want to make one slave or a million, you're making slaves ~ which is why the group that brought the suit needs to be dragged back into court on some criminal charges.

For the Frivolous lawsuit,
U.S. District Judge Gray Miller should have
ordered the Plaintiffs to undergo Gardasil injections. [/s]

Barring anything else, that should cause all Liberty Loving people to say "WTF"...

Our Rights DO NOT COME FROM GOVERNMENT. Including Governor Rick Perry's desire to pray for this nation.

Thank God!!! Oops, did I say that and offend someone?

I am glad some loon judge didn’t rule in the atheist’s favor. We need more of these proper rulings to send a clear message.

You’re welcome to steal it - I did - I think I read that that’s how Yural Levin described the now-Pope before he was Pope.
