House Republicans will vote Thursday on Speaker Paul Ryan’s Obamacare replacement bill, two senior GOP sources told POLITICO. The move shows that GOP leaders are confident they have the 216 votes needed to pass the bill, even as as the far-right and centrist Republicans continue to press for changes.

House Speaker Paul Ryan is under fire from fellow Republicans upset with his messy political divorce from Donald Trump, with some threatening an effort to oust him. So far, the rumblings are limited and no one has advanced a potential replacement nearly as respected among colleagues as the Wisconsin Republican. That suggests an uphill path to deposing Ryan, who was his party's 2012 vice presidential nominee and could harbor White House ambitions.

Newly arrived refugees have doubled the incidence of tuberculosis in Texas, Watchdog.org has learned. The Department of State Health Services said 1,238 refugees, asylum-seekers, Cuban parolees, human-trafficking victims and holders of special immigrant visas tested positive for TB. Texas typically reports 1,200 to 1,300 active TB cases annually, DSHS said. DSHS spokesman Chris Van Deusen said the positive screenings by refugees could indicate latent TB infections. “They have been exposed to TB and have the bacteria dormant in their body. The idea is that donors can write one big check to the joint account, which can then be divvied up between Romney's campaign committee and the RNC.
