No Virginia ballots should be ordered or mailed to absentee voters until a federal judge decides which Republican presidential candidates will be on the state's primary ballot. That temporary order was made Monday by District Judge John A. Gibney Jr., who will make a final decision Friday, Jan. 13, said Joseph Nixon, the lead counsel for Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Perry filed a lawsuit last month against Virginia's State Board of Elections after he didn't get enough signatures to get on the March 6 primary ballot. Only two Republican candidates did: former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Rep. Ron...

The four top presumed Republican presidential contenders are essentially tied in a poll of national primary voters released Monday. The poll, by Public Policy Polling, showed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee leading the field with the support of 23 percent of respondents. But second place contender, former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney, was only slightly behind with 22 percent support. Furthermore both former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich won 21 percent of the vote, well within the poll's 4.9 percent margin of error. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, won 4 percent support. But while only 2...

Republican leader Mitt Romney said Monday the GOP nominee in the 2012 presidential election will have to bring together divided factions of the party. "Whoever becomes the nominee of our party needs to be, as Ronald Reagan was, a big-top Republican welcoming conservatives of all types in our party," he said during an interview with The Washington Times' "America's Morning News" radio show.

Twenty-nine percent (29%) of Republican voters nationwide say former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is their pick to represent the GOP in the 2012 Presidential campaign. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 24% prefer former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney while 18% would cast their vote for former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich gets 14% of the vote while Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty gets 4%. Six percent (6%) of GOP voters prefer some other candidate while 7% remain undecided. These numbers reflect an improvement for Huckabee since July when the three candidates were virtually even. Huckabee’s...

GOPUSA.com conducted an extensive poll of Republicans, focusing on everything from policy positions to a hypothetical 2012 candidate field.  The entire poll can be viewed here:What is evident in the polling is that Republicans are pessimistic about their future, but oppose President Obama’s policies. The survey shows what has happened as a result of turning away from core Republican beliefs. Conservatives still believe in those principles, but they don’t have faith right now in the party’s ability to carry through on those principles. When 27% of respondents feel that earmarks would not be a good issue because Republicans would look like...
