INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Forty-five years ago, in late January 1978, the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes regions experienced a once-in-a-lifetime blizzard that crippled the aforementioned regions and set records that still stand to this day. The devastating impact this event had on those that were affected from mainly Jan. 25-27 could not be fully foreseen. Even forecasters themselves who gave the warning that this big system was on its way were bewildered at its results. Viewers share 1978 blizzard photos and you can share yours System setup: A strong low pressure system and arctic airmass was dropping southward out of...

The Jerusalem Post decided it was a good idea to twist the Israel-Hamas war into a whining session about how the Jewish state’s military offensive was contributing to the so-called “climate crisis.” Talk about straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. “Climate crisis on Gaza battlefield: CO2 emissions surge from Israel-Hamas war,” read The Post’s ludicrous Jan. 14 headline. It didn’t take long for the liberal outlet to then wokescold Israel’s retaliatory strikes against Hamas following the terror group’s Oct. 7th genocide against the Jewish people as somehow exacerbating climate change. “Some 99% of these emissions were attributed to...

Joel Kotkin reports from Davos that things are not well with Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum. Says he: The growing irrelevance of what Adrian Wooldridge has labelled “the progressive aristocracy” can even be seen in the less than enthusiastic press coverage. Politico describes the contemporary Davos crowd as a “smart set” which “sounds dumb.” Then he sticks in the shiv: The grandees don’t have to travel far to see the results of their “reset” as nearby Germany’s industrial machine collapses, with even its last solar panel plant about to go belly-up. But then there was Javier Milei’s rousing speech in...

A Quebec man has just been found guilty of starting fourteen forest fires in Canada last year. Brian Paré, 38, pleaded guilty to starting the fires which the corporate media and green agenda advocates blamed on “climate change.” At a courthouse in central Quebec, Paré pleaded guilty to 13 counts of arson and one count of arson with disregard for human life, according to CBC. When he was eventually apprehended, he told police he started the fires to check if the forest was dry or not. The pyromaniac’s arsonist spree began in May and lasted through September. Last year, Canada...

A speaker at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland has called on globalist elites to push for farming to be labeled a “serious crime.” Speaking from the WEF’s summit at the luxury Swiss ski resort, “Stop Ecocide Now” founder Jojo Mehta argued that fishing and framing should be considered equal to “genocide.” Mehta insisted that fishing and farming for food should be a “serious crime” while arguing that it is immoral to make money from these industries. “We have this cultural, very ingrained habit of not taking damage to nature as seriously as we take damage...

U.S. climate envoy John Kerry confirmed Wednesday he is departing his position to work on President Biden’s reelection campaign, emphasizing the stakes for climate policy in the election. Kerry, speaking with BloombergTV at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, said the stakes for the 2024 election are “as high as they can get,” despite skepticism about Biden among younger, climate-focused voters, who polling shows are increasingly leery of the president’s age and his policies on the Israel-Hamas war.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon slammed Democratic messaging about MAGA, or “Make America Great Again,” Republicans on Wednesday, telling Democrats to “grow up” and “listen” to supporters of former President Trump. “When people say MAGA, they’re actually looking at people voting for Trump and … they’re basically scapegoating them,” Dimon told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “I don’t like how [Trump] said things about Mexico … but he wasn’t wrong about some of these critical issues, and that’s why they’re voting for him,” Dimon continued. “And I think people should be a little more respectful of our fellow citizens.”

In the frigid Midwest, Tesla owners are facing a harsh reality: their electric vehicles (EVs) are failing to charge in the extreme cold. Desperate drivers have been left stranded, unable to power up their cars amidst the icy grip of winter. This alarming situation raises serious concerns about the practicality of EVs and the government’s role in their promotion. As temperatures plummet, charging stations have turned into graveyards for abandoned EVs. One Tesla owner, Tyler Beard, spent six hours over two days attempting to charge his car, only to find it still at zero percent. This is not an isolated...

Did it snow a lot in your neck of the woods?Climate change! Are you seeing less snow this year?Climate change did that, too.You may never see snow again, we predict.Climate change means that too.In the space of two weeks, the New York Times has stories that say climate change will end snow forever, reduce the amount of snow somewhat, or cause more snow than ever before. My head hurts. Mostly because it is -6 degrees outside right now in Minneapolis, but the intellectual whiplash the New York Times is giving me doesn’t help.Lest you think I am exaggerating, I am not. The...

The global climate is always changing, but contrary to the popular narrative, the science on the exact causes is far from settled. Alarmists claim that humans burning fossil fuels for energy will catastrophically ruin the climate, and they demand a “net-zero” future to save the world. What would happen if the climate alarmists actually succeeded in the United States? Although it is impossible to predict the future, early warning signs from President Joe Biden’s policies don’t paint a pretty picture. Decreased Individual Mobility First, if the federal government bans gas-powered cars, individual transportation would get less reliable and more expensive....

Donald Trump told young protesters who infiltrated his campaign stop in Indianola, Iowa on Sunday to 'go home to mommy' and to 'grow up' after experiencing his first outburst at a rally in years. A group of environmental protesters interrupted Trump's rally in Indianola, Iowa on Sunday, holding up banners accusing the former president of being a 'climate criminal.' The demonstrators were littered throughout the crowd, and were escorted out of a student union building where Trump was holding a final rally before Iowa's caucuses on Monday. Not only those backing Trump were inspired to come out in the -18-degree...

The latest calculations from several science agencies showing Earth obliterated global heat records last year may seem scary. But scientists worry that what’s behind those numbers could be even worse. The Associated Press asked more than three dozen scientists in interviews and emails what the smashed records mean. Most said they fear acceleration of climate change that is already right at the edge of the 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) increase since pre-industrial times that nations had hoped to stay within. “The heat over the last calendar year was a dramatic message from Mother Nature,” said University of Arizona climate...

An arctic blast will plunge most of the United States into "dangerously cold" territory this weekend, and maps shared by AccuWeather and the National Weather Service (NWS) reveal which states can expect to get hit the hardest by the arctic weather—one of which will face temperatures up to 60 degrees below zero. The frigid air will spread southward across the U.S. this weekend following a series of winter storms that brought gusty winds, cold temperatures and heavy precipitation to most of the nation this week, including snow in Hawaii. "Frigid Arctic air will begin to spread southward across the heart...

Colorado continues to grow warmer as a result of climate change, leading to increased risks of wildfires and extreme drought, according to Colorado State University and the Colorado Climate Center. For the first time since 2014, the Colorado Climate Center released a state report, updating residents on the progression of climate change in Colorado and the potential impacts it may have in the years ahead. "Since the last report we have had some major significant events," said Becky Bolinger, assistant state climatologist and professor at CSU. Since the 1970s, Colorado has warmed more than 1.5 degrees. Though that may seem...

Electric buses are just like electric passenger vehicles: they’re not ready for prime time, only more so. Proterra buses are a case in point. Cities that wasted money on them found they had far less range then advertised. They commonly couldn’t complete even short, flat routes specifically designed for them. The enormous weight of their batteries cracked frames, and getting parts from the factory was virtually impossible. But to make up for their failures, they were far more expensive than reliable diesel buses. Proterra went bankrupt in August of 2023.President Biden gave Proterra at least $10 million, and lauded it...

Workers at Tara Mines in County Meath have been asked by the company to express their interest in a proposed voluntary severance scheme. Staff at Europe’s largest zinc mine were today updated by management on its plans to reopen the facility outside Navan in the second quarter of this year. The site was placed under care and maintenance last June, with 650 workers temporarily laid off. At the time, the company said it took the decision in response to unsustainable losses, and cited a decline in the price of zinc, high energy costs and inflation as some of the reasons...

… balmy holidays are a preview of something darker: bigger climate extremes, more natural disasters, the specter not of a world where humans suffer through these things and find ways to survive but where we’ve made the planet so uninhabitable that, in the longer run, the planet survives but we don’t. I was thinking about this while standing outside a science museum a couple of days ago with a friend. We were talking about the weather, but not the kind of small talk when you have nothing else to say. “I’m not sure our grandkids will even know what snow...

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “is pathetic” in response to the secretary’s comments on MSNBC blaming the record-shattering December migrant apprehensions on climate change. “The REAL reason illegal immigration records are being set is because Biden refuses to enforce immigration laws,” Abbott added. Climate change? Mayorkas is pathetic. The REAL reason illegal immigration records are being set is because Biden refuses to enforce immigration laws. We will send more buses and planes. We will continue building the razor wire walls that Biden wants to tear down. https://t.co/Z0j9MVS74c — Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) January...
