Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, a Texas Republican, says the GOP must energize its base or Hillary Clinton could be the next U.S. president. He said Sen. Clinton, D-N.Y., has "built the biggest, most powerful coalition that I've ever witnessed in my lifetime." DeLay told CNN he does not support the front-runners in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. He called Rudy Giuliani an obvious "leader" who may be able to win over some social conservatives. But, DeLay said he would not vote for the New York City mayor because he favors abortion.
