The military veteran who killed three law enforcement officers in Baton Rouge last summer left behind a suicide note, a prayer from an Islamic holy book and an online trail of his rage against police. Two days after a white police officer shot and killed a black man in Louisiana’s capital, Gavin Long searched the internet for addresses, phone numbers and other personal information belonging to the two officers involved in the July 5 shooting of Alton Sterling, a prosecutor’s report revealed Friday. Less than two weeks later, the 29-year-old black man from Kansas City, Mo., traveled to Baton Rouge...

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - According to an email sent by the reported alias of the Baton Rouge police shooter, Gavin Eugene Long, the Alton Sterling shooting may have been on his mind just days before the tragedy. Dr. Boyce Watkins of the Black Business School received an email from Long on Monday, July 11 at 10:31 p.m., just one day before the Louisiana State Police says Long rented the car he drove from Kansas City, Missouri to Baton Rouge. Watkins says he did not read the email until after after Sunday's police ambush shooting took place, but had he...

The best friend of Gavin Long, aka Cosmo Setepenra, tells how a Marine became a sovereign citizen and, eventually, a mass murderer. Before he killed three Baton Rouge cops, Gavin Long drove to Dallas one day after a black veteran like him slaughtered five white police officers. Once there, he recorded himself preaching a message for black men: It’s time to wake up. Long visited two barbershops with a stack of self-published tomes and a camera clipped to his shirt to record his proselytizing. “I want to give you something that you can’t lose, something they can’t take from you,”...

Wearing a black balaclava and carrying a high-powered rifle, former US Marine Gavin Long cut a chilling figure as he calmly walked around Baton Rouge. He is seen strolling alongside cars and through streets in newly-released surveillance footage, taken during the his horrific attack that left three police officers dead and another three wounded. The cameras then recorded him as he took up his shooting stance and fired at patrol cars from a long distance. During Sunday's brutal ambush, the 29-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, kept shooting one of the slain cops as he lay dying on the ground.

Joycelyn Jackson was already sitting in church when she found herself needing God most. She hadn’t yet learned that her younger brother Montrell Jackson was among the three officers killed in Baton Rouge when her pastor asked the congregation to send prayers to her family. “I didn’t want to break down in church, but it was just something I couldn’t hold,” said Jackson, 49. “He was a wonderful person. A wonderful person.” Joycelyn Jackson said that she understands the anger behind the movement Black Lives Matter but that “God gives nobody the right to kill and take another person’s life.”...

This is killer Gavin Long a/k/a Cosmo Setepenra's list of books. http://convoswithcosmo.com/man-datory-reading-list/ Note this one - the only one listed related to American race issues: "The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander This is the title I immediately and robotically recite anytime someone is looking for a book recommendation. By far the most infuriating book I’ve read, but vital for anyone that’s looking to understand why the #BlackLivesMatter movement exists. Why Black people are angry. And why the black father is absent in most Black homes (done so intentionally via the system of White Supremacy). It’s an unrelenting and exhaustively...

Baton Rouge cop killer Gavin Eugene Long wrote a self-help trilogy targeted at black people, titled “The Cosmo Way: A W(H)olistic Guide for the Total Transformation of Melanated People,” in which he claimed that black people are genetically superior to white people. Long wrote all three books under the name Cosmo Setepenra — the same name he used on YouTube and Twitter and for his website. As originally reported by The Daily Caller, Long railed against “crackers” and claimed to have been a Nation of Islam member in the videos. Speaking of the trilogy in one of the YouTube videos,...

... These are the books that every man must have in his library of information. This list will be updated regularly so check back on a regular basis. ... 2. Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates between-the-world-and-me-compressor A current bestseller, you’ve probably seen Coates’ interview on “The Daily Show” (amazing). An absolutely necessary book about what it’s like to be black in America. Coates was inspired in part by the tragic death of one of his close friends at the hands of the police. When Toni Morrison says something is “required reading,” you don’t question it. Read it!...

As I have been saying for quite a while, the terrorists are in a hurry. They know that their free run at their enemies will not last much longer, and so they are eager to grab whatever they can as fast as they can. They expect things will get tougher when the next president takes over in January. For the moment they expect the Obama administration to make nice to Iran and Russia, Cuba and China, and the other members of the global alliance arrayed against us. Ergo Nice. And Baton Rouge. And Milwaukee. There will be more, and I...

The head of a Cleveland police union reacted to the shooting of multiple officers in Baton Rouge by going off on resident Obama and a media culture that helps boost anti-cop narratives. Detective Steve Loomis ... said that Obama has “validated the false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter and the media are pressing out there,” and he said the president has “blood on his hands” that he won’t be able to wash off.

Refrain from inflamatory rhetoric. We are all one family. Attack was cowardly. No justification for shooting police (unless you listen to Malcom X or NBPP [own editorial comment]). Blah. Blah. Blahblah.

Confronting another killing of police officers, President Barack Obama on Sunday urged Americans to tamp down inflammatory words and actions as a violent summer collides with the nation’s heated presidential campaign. Obama said the motive behind Sunday’s killing of three officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was still unknown. It was the latest in a string of deadly incidents involving law enforcement, including the police shooting of a black man in Baton Rouge and the killing of five officers in Dallas. “We as a nation have to be loud and clear that nothing justifies attacks on law enforcement,” Obama said in...
