A Roswell woman on her daily walk Friday morning was attacked by a neighbor's pit bull, which tore into her head, police said. GAINESVILLE - A would be home invader was shot and killed early Sunday morning in South Hall County. Sheriff's Major Jeff Strickland said a man approached a home in the 4000 block of Winder Highway and when confronted by the homeowner fired several shots. "The perpetrator fired several shots toward the homeowner ," Strickland said, "The homeowner was able to return fire, striking and killing the perpetrator." Strickland said the homeowner will not face charges. "Preliminary investigating shows the homeowner acted in self defense," Strickland said. "And not charges will be filed." The boy was part of a group of teens, numbering about four, who tried to rob the pizza store employee at the Huntingwood Pointe apartments in the 2900 block of Campbellton Road shortly after 10 p.m. Authorities said the driver, who works for a neighborhood pizza parlor, pulled out a gun and fired, hitting and killing the boy.
