After state lawmakers passed ''Terri's Law'' in 2003, the Florida Supreme Court struck it down as unconstitutional. But that rebuke hasn't stopped lawmakers from rushing to prepare other bills this year in an attempt to keep Terri Schiavo on a feeding tube and undermine the authority of Florida courts. There indeed may be room to improve protections for people who are incapacitated or cannot communicate their medical wishes, but changes to law should be debated in a deliberate fashion.
