Contrary to earlier reports, the Fox News Channel is hosting a Republican presidential candidate forum in New Hampshire, and, so far, Rep. Ron Paul has not been invited. WND previously reported the event was canceled three weeks ago, but New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen confirmed today the forum is scheduled for Jan. 6.

I often peruse the articles on Townhall.com as part of my daily dose of political commentary. Over the last few months I've noticed more and more left-wing kooks (trolls?) that have made prolonged appearences there. Did MoveOn.org recently assign a directorate to infiltrate and disrupt popular, center-right websites like Townhall?

Good Grief, how many days into the cycle now, and we still ain't kicked in enough to pay the light bill? I thought I was the poorest Redneck around, but some of you must really be hungry! What are you going to do if this forum folds up? Where else do you have a voice, where anyone cares what you think?

You will hardly see any Russian politicians at the Russian Economic Forum in London, since they were recommended to disregard it. Russian authorities are sure: to solve your problems Russian businessmen don't have to go to London, they can easily do it at St Petersburg Economic Forum in June. However, the moment chosen for giving advice isn't the best, as, due to the tense relationship between Russia and western countries, the RF may be accused of deliberate attempt to stand apart from Europe. Some companies refused to go to the Forum after the politicians, nobody wants to "to get it...

NAIROBI, Kenya - More than 80,000 people gathered for an annual anti-capitalist conference in Kenya's capital on Saturday, marching on Nairobi's largest slum to protest global policies they say hurt the poor. The World Social Forum will be a chance to showcase "Africa and her unbroken history of struggle against foreign domination, colonialism and neocolonialism," according to a statement on the event Web site. To begin the forum, thousands of protesters marched from Kenya's sprawling Kibera slum to downtown Nairobi. About a third of Nairobi's total population, at least 700,000 people, is crammed into a single square mile in Kibera,...

Hard pounding, gentlemen: but we shall see who can pound the longest.- Arthur Wellesley. Duke of Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo by Bill Levinson Editor's note: The difference between 400 GB and 800 GB of “bandwidth” per month at my service provider is about $10/month. GB is GIGA-bytes. A gigabyte is 1 billion bytes. An average blog/message board web page is 150 KB — 150 kilobytes. A kilobyte is 1000 bytes. So they’re saying the Democratic Party, with millions in its war chest, can’t spend $20.00 over the next two months for 5,333,333 (that’s 5.3 MILLION) page hits? Yeah,...

Here we go yet again. This time we were off for a week in Italy - Rome, Venice, and Milan with our Rick Steve's Travel Guides in hand. Of all the places we've been so far, the books paid off handsomely in Italy. And next to the Swedes up in Kiruna, the Italians are some of the nicest Europeans we've met to date. No wonder so many Americans were there at the same time as we were. We land in Rome in the evening and catch a cab to the hotel. What can you say about Italian cab drivers? After...

Although the Republican National Committee chairman this week called her “a prehistoric Democrat,” and Rep. Nancy Pelosi referred to herself as “an Italian-American Catholic grandmother,” archaeologists in Rome today said there is no conclusive connection between Rep. Pelosi and a recently unearthed 3,000-year-old female skeleton. While some Congressional Republicans point out that the House Minority Leader and the 10th century B.C. skeleton have never been seen in public together, archaeologists call that evidence “circumstantial and speculative.” “We would have to take DNA samples to be sure,” said the unnamed researcher, who noted that “just in case, the dig team has...

Lorena Solorio remembers her younger brother teasing her as a child, telling her he was better than she was. Born in the United States, he was a citizen. Brought to the country in the trunk of a car, she was not. ``I couldn't understand why we had to sneak in,'' she said Sunday. Now an employee of Catholic Charities of San Jose and a U.S. citizen, Solorio works with many children who are in the country illegally. As the national debate over illegal immigration continues to swirl, she said, she sees in those children the same confusion she felt as...

SAN MARCOS ----- There's been a deluge of TV advertising, extensive newspaper and TV coverage and one candidate forum after the other. And yet, one can only wonder how many voters have had the time or energy to educate themselves on the qualifications, political beliefs and personalities of all of the 18 candidates in the running for the 50th District Congressional seat formerly held by disgraced Republican Randy "Duke" Cunningham. With less than three weeks until the April 11 special election to pick a temporary replacement for Cunningham, the latest opportunity for voters to get to know the candidates came...

A meeting of civic, business and government leaders from both sides of the border yesterday was intended to foster economic integration of San Diego County and Baja California. But participants in the Forum Fronterizo soon found themselves addressing a very different topic: illegal immigration and the proposal for a new border fence. “Building a wall is an anachronism,” said Jessie J. Knight Jr., president and chief executive of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Nobody can possibly believe that this is the solution. . . . There are other ways to ensure security.” The Forum Fronterizo, sponsored by the...

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- The population of Louisiana's capital city has ballooned since Hurricane Katrina, its schools and neighborhoods now home to thousands of displaced New Orleans residents. WALNUT CREEK — For the first and likely only time in the government-revamp special election campaign, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was directly grilled by voters Monday night and often wound up on the defensive, insisting he hasn't "bitten off too much." The governor — who demanded to speak separately from his Democratic and union foes repeatedly touted his uphill battle for four voter-qualified initiatives on the Nov. 8 ballot as a "fight for the people" and dismissed accusations they are "power grabs." Schwarzenegger said he was seeking to "fix a broken system" while preserving the "balance of power." "They (lawmakers)...
