SHARE (FOX40.COM) — A bill that bans the sale of the most popular handgun in the U.S. was recently signed into California law by Gov. Gavin Newsom. ADVERTISEMENT

• Video Above: What is a ghost gun

On Oct. 10, Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1127, which prohibits licensed firearms dealers from selling guns that can be “easily converted by hand or with common household tools” into a machine gun. Although the Glock isn’t specifically mentioned in the legislation, it falls into that category of firearms. The Glock is infamous for its easy-alteration capabilities by using a ‘Glock switch...

“ There’s no reason to live in California”

Nah, if you are a criminal or a layabout or a criminal layabout, it’s the best deal in the USA.

A single mom can make six figures on welfare, section 8 housing, etc in Dan Fansico. Couple that with unreported drug income and you’ll be rich in no time.

“NUTS!

They routinely wipe their butts with the Constitution. You think they’re gonna pay attention on this one law?

Just to clarify, any law that is enacted that blatantly violates the Constitution and ignores Supreme Court rulings and precedents, is, by definition, “A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY” and those persons who sign those laws would acting in a text book description of “FACISM.”

Seems to me that the unanimous SCOTUS decision in "Caetano v Massachusetts" just might cover this. Here's a hint...in that decision SCOTUS tossed out as “frivolous” (a word contained in the decision narrative) a Massachusetts law banning a certain type of weapon.

This will just lead to more unregistered sales, less background checks, and more sales in Nevada. These people don’t think, but it makes them the star of the cocktail circuit.

Banning Glocks certainly is the right thing to do. I have several brands of guns, and my only Glock was a real problem, so I had to get rid of it. I’d catch the damn thing walking the streets just looking for someone to kill. The last incident it took a shot at a little girl, and that was it, I sold it. Let someone else have the headaches of owning a Glock. /s/

Yes, I agree, this new Commiefornia law is unconstitutional.

Seriously, I did get rid of my only Glock. This Glock 19 Gen 5 was a total POS. It had loading and ejecting issues galore. Sent it to the factory, bought new magazines, cleaned it to death, tried different ammos and about two rounds in every magazine it would still jam.

I’m comparing this junk to my 1911 which has never malfunctioned as well as my Smith & Wesson 10 mm that works perfectly.

They've totally ignored the 2A since 2000. I was there when they outlawed ARs, implemented the "drop safety" scam, etc. Then Arnie The RINO outlawed the 50 cal.

"Unconstitutional" is something kalifornians take pride in.

Totally unconstitutional.

Most of California's laws impeding or blocking the sale of guns and ammo are un-Constitutional. Doesn't matter - given how slow the appeals process is and given that California uses the tax dollars of its citizenry to slow-walk and defend against all appeals, this is effectively a ban on Glocks in California forever.

This unconstitutional type of blue state defiance can, and should, be banned at the federal level.

California needs to be broken up into several States. No State should be so large that you can’t drive through it in a day.

And after all, who would want to leave Texas? ;-)

“This will just lead to more unregistered sales, less background checks, and more sales in Nevada. These people don’t think, but it makes them the star of the cocktail circuit.”

...but then what? Now you have an illegal firearm (since California has no record of you buying it there). What can you do with it? Take it to the range, figuring that they don’t check, which is very likely true, but there’s that risk, particularly if a cop also there starts ‘talking’ to you and gets suspicious.

Use it for self-defense? You can be sure that it will be checked then. So you stop a bad guy and end up in jail for 10 years. Often still a good trade off, but now you and your family pay a huge price for self-defense and you never know for sure if giving the DEI $1000 could have protected you.

But what comes next - if they outlaw Glocks, then even having one in your home and visible, should the police come to your door, could destroy your life. What if your kid lets a ‘trusted teacher’ (LOL) or doctor, or social worker, know about it? Or, even worse, an ex-wife (divorce is profession in California), or ex-girlfriend, knows about it - it will always be on your mind. What about Agriculture Checkpoints or Interior Border Patrol Checkpoints - you have to get the gun into the state too.

Like or or not, 98% of the people will comply...the other 2% likely won’t get caught, but likewise would never had needed the weapon as violent encounters in the US are, thankfully, still quite rare...so the law will be successful in its intent (keeping new Glocks out of the hands of law-abiding people).

Bottom line is that if you allow Democrats to get in power and especially control the courts, no matter what they promise (think Joe Manchin), they will do what they’ve done throughout most of the Western World, which is OUTLAW virtually all guns, so your Glock won’t won’t even require a serial number check to get you arrested. Even if we have to vote for RINOs in November elections, the alternative is ALWAYS worse, usually far worse...and if I can get that across on this site, I will have accomplished my mission!

So I guess Leroy in Los Angeles won’t be able to get him a Glock from Kareem, with a full auto switch anymore. Newsom will put him in the jail now. Going to put a crimp in the black market Glock trade.

The Courts have allowed CA to ban “non compliant” handguns for most of this century.

Glocks are now non California compliant. It’ll stand in court unfortunately.

Might be interesting to see what they would classify as a “common household tool”.
