December 3, 2015: GOP Presidential candidate and front-runner Donald Trump was one of several Presidential candidates to speak at the 2015 Republican Jewish Coalition's Presidential Forum. It got a little awkward there for a minute when he started taking questions and someone asked about his feelings on Jerusalem being the undisputed capital of Israel. He didn't exactly answer the quarstion...

**SNIP** The climate march on Sunday with 400,000 people on the streets of New York along with demonstrations around the country and the world marked a new stage in the political radicalization of big sections of American society, particularly a big section of young people. Despite the lack of a clear program or way forward for the movement being articulated by its organizers, there was an enormous thirst for answers and evidence of a widespread anti-corporate and even anti-capitalist consciousness. This was reflected, for example, in the thousands of homemade signs against corporate domination. In recent months, we’ve seen determined...

In the wake of the shooting death of Michael Brown by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, the Atlanta NAACP will begin hosting forum. (snip) Atlanta NAACP President Dr. R.L. White says, “Most of the cops, are good cops but every once in a while one in a basket can spoil the whole thing.” And White says when young black males inadvertently run into one of those cops and they show any kind of temper, “the cop gets angry and thinks he has the right to shoot them or demean them in any way that he can.” White adding,

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son” (1 John 2:22). “And the fifth angel sounded the trumpet, and I saw a star fall from heaven upon the earth, and there was given to him the key of the bottomless pit." (Rev. 9:1) In his Concise Commentary Matthew Henry identifies falling stars as tepid, indecisive, weak or apostate clergy who, "Having ceased to be a minister of Christ, he who is represented by this star becomes the minister of the devil; and lets loose the...

Please excuse me if my first post, ever, is out of place; I simply cannot keep this in. I have always thought that a debate, besides being an arena where multiple opposing views may be voiced and argued publicly, is a forum to showcase ones skill in the art of diplomacy. If Vice President Biden's behavior during last night's debate is, even remotely, indicative of how he deals with allies or opponents that have differing views at the international level, I am more surprised than ever that we have ANY friends at all left in the world at large.

Late Friday, the federal district court in Nevada issued a declaratory judgment that makes is harder for copyright holders to file lawsuits over excerpts of material and burden online forums and their users with nuisance lawsuits. The judgment – part of the nuisance lawsuit avalanche started by copyright troll Righthaven – found that Democratic Underground did not infringe the copyright in a Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper article when a user of the online political forum posted a five-sentence excerpt, with a link back to the newspaper's website. Judge Roger Hunt’s judgment confirms that an online forum is not liable for...

The same questions were to be asked of each candidate. That did not happen. Just watch the questions Mitt Rpmney receives that no other candidate receives. Did Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich receive a very emotional question? This forum was made to be a pre-planned ad for Mitt Romney!

Backstage can be something of an inner sanctum at a presidential debate: even though they are appearing on live television before millions of Americans, the candidates are used to having their clubhouse hermetically sealed from the public before and after they take the stage. That was not the case for the six major Republican candidates who participated in the Fox News Channel forum on Saturday night when the network invited a New York Times reporter to roam behind the scenes as they took turns before a panel of conservative state attorneys general and the Fox News host Mike Huckabee. How...
