Anybody watch the 3-Hour GOP Candidate Forum on FOX tonight? Care to weigh-in with your comments? I thought Newt was absolutely awesome. Rick Santorum was very impressive. Bachmann was o.k. Romney and Paul were.... well.... Romney and Paul. Rick Perry, bless his heart, made it difficult to watch. I held my breath as he halted in trying to stick to his stump speech talking points. Don't know if anyone else caught it but, Rick was the only candidate who, incorrectly, called the Attorneys General the "Attorney Generals". Poor Rick.

DES MOINES, Iowa — A gathering of religious conservatives in Iowa tonight turned into one of the most emotional moments of the 2012 primary season when two presidential candidates — Herman Cain and Rick Santorum — both fought back tears while telling personal stories about the most challenging moments in their lives. Cain, whose wife, Gloria, was in the audience, spoke about being diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2006, stopping several times during his re-telling of the story to compose himself. “I can do this,” Cain said he told his wife moments after getting the cancer diagnosis from...

(CNN) – Mitt Romney will not attend a Labor Day forum in South Carolina organized by conservative kingmaker Sen. Jim DeMint, who endorsed Romney's run for president four years ago. Romney spokesperson Ryan Williams, citing scheduling conflicts, said the candidate will instead spend the day in New Hampshire, sending another signal that the former Massachusetts governor is not focusing on the early Southern primary state like he did in 2008. He was not previously listed as attending the event by the organizers. Last week CNN confirmed Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and businessman...

Ten years ago today saw the creation of what I consider perhaps the most important online web forum in Canada. January 6th, 2001 saw the launch of The Voice of Principled Conservatism - Free Dominion. At the time, our nation was mired in a seemingly endless reign of Jean Chretien's majority Liberal government. The national media gave us a choice between the far-left (CBC) and the slightly left (CTV) as far as news and political commentary. We were stuck in perpetual political correctness and left-wing dogma run amok. The internet was no different. For Canadians on the political right, places...

FORT WORTH – An increasingly sexualized consumer society and inadequate funding for social services are major reasons why more young girls are being pressed into sexual slavery, a human-trafficking expert told a Fort Worth audience Thursday. Fishnet-clad dolls, "porn star" T-shirts, Juicy brand jeans and the mainstreaming of the word "pimp" all are signs of "demonic forces" at work in American culture, said Alesia Adams, the Salvation Army's Atlanta-based human trafficking coordinator. Adams spoke at a forum on the subject at the Salvation Army's Fort Worth offices. "I don't want my granddaughter playing with a doll with hooker heels," she...

Virginia - -(AmmoLand.com)- March 1st, 2010 marked the one year anniversary of Virginia Gun Owners Forum (VGOF), an online forum community at www.VaGunForum.net. After the 2008 elections and the democrat controlled senate many gun owners feared that their ability to purchase and own firearms would be legislatively restricted, so Rick Sandlin began work on VGOF – with the vision of creating a one stop shop for all information relating to firearm ownership in Virginia. Over 1200 individual users frequent VGOF, a bulletin board based forum to discuss anything from the latest Bushmaster rifle to state & national gun politics. As...

Last time, I mentioned here that it would be interesting to interview members of the extended family of cop-killer Maurice Clemmons, just to see what makes them tick; why they would risk their future freedom to help hide the killer and lie to the police. That brings up a question many in the gun rights community have never dared to ask: What makes a gun rights activist tick? What is it that drives a growing segment of American firearms owners to become more than shooters and hunters; to become “defenders of the faith” as they are often portrayed by gun...

Speaker Pelosi. Good afternoon. We just had a very instructive meeting with some leading economists about the number one subject on the minds of the American people: jobs. Jobs, jobs, jobs, and jobs. It comes at a time when, as you know, job creation is centered at addressing at underlying concerns that people have in their own homes. These are kitchen table issues that we discussed over the Speaker’s table in the conference room. I am going to introduce our experts that were here. You have their backgrounds. They are going to tell you some of their forecasts that they...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama takes on healthcare reform at a White House forum on Thursday, seeking to design an overhaul of a costly and inefficient system he believes is threatening the U.S. economy. Obama, who has nominated Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as his health secretary, will gather about 120 people representing everyone from doctors and patients to health insurers and lawmakers to discuss how to fix U.S. healthcare. It's a challenge that has defeated earlier presidents. But officials say the current U.S. economic crisis only makes it more imperative. "If we want to create jobs and rebuild our...

FORT WORTH — Hundreds of people who posted their opinions of a sexual assault trial in an online forum are now the targets of a lawsuit. The authors of those comments on a Web site thought they were anonymous, but this week, a judge ruled their names should be revealed. Mark and Rhonda Lesher lived quietly in northeast Texas; Mark practiced law, Rhonda ran a beauty salon. Then, last year, a woman accused the couple — along with another man — of sexually assaulting her. That's when the anonymous comments started appearing on Topix.com. An estimated 1,700 statements were too...
